Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on analyzing the chemical components of the plant Rubus alceaefolius.
  • Nine compounds were successfully isolated and purified using techniques like column chromatography and identified through spectral analysis.
  • Notably, compounds 4-8 were isolated from this plant for the first time, with compounds 4-8 also being discovered in the Rubus genus for the first time.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to create a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for analyzing three compounds—emodin, chrysophanol, and physcion—from various parts of Berchemia lineata.
  • Researchers used a specific HPLC setup with a Diamonsil ODS C18 column, methanol-phosphoric acid as the mobile phase, and detected compounds at a UV wavelength of 254 nm.
  • Results showed that the method achieved a high recovery rate and revealed that the root part of Berchemia lineata contained more total anthraquinones than the stem, indicating the method's effectiveness for quality control.

Objective: To establish a sensitive and specific method for quality control of Folium Fici Microcarpa, HPLC method was applied for studies on the fingerprint chromatogram of Folium Fici Microcarpa.

Methods: Isovitexin was used as reference substance to evaluate the chromatogram of 10 samples from different regions and 12 samples collected in different months.

Results: The result revealed that all the chromatographic peaks were seperated efficiently.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate the inorganic elements in the plant Polygonum multiflorum by measuring various elements using ICP-AEC.
  • Wild specimens of P. multiflorum were found to have significantly higher levels of certain elements (Al, Ca, K, Mg, Sr, Ti) compared to cultivated ones, while other elements showed no significant differences.
  • Principal component analysis (PCA) revealed that Al, B, Ba, Fe, Na, Ni, Ti, Ca, and Sr are characteristic elements of P. multiflorum, with a notable variation in element distribution from samples taken in Tianyang.
