Background: Birth defects constitute a significant public health issue worldwide, yet there is a lack of comprehensive population-based data for the Chinese population.
Methods: We analyzed data from the China National Population-based Birth Defects Surveillance System from 2007 to 2021, we calculated the prevalence rates of selected birth defects, stratified by maternal residence, geographic region, maternal age, and infant sex. The Joinpoint regression model was utilized to assess trends and annual percent changes in prevalence.
Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of using 3D printing guides in modified unilateral puncture percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF), and to explore a new method for preventing paravertebral vein leakage during PVP in conjunction with a previous study of the optimal puncture-side bone cement/vertebral volume ratio(PSBCV/VV%).
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 99 patients who underwent unilateral puncture PVP between January 2023 and December 2023. Patients were divided into a guide plate group (46 patients) and a conventional group (53 patients).
The objective of this study was to investigate the association between pre-operative body mass index (BMI) and surgical infection in perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA) patients treated with curative resection. Consecutive pCCA patients were enrolled from four tertiary hospitals between 2008 and 2022. According to pre-operative BMI, the patients were divided into three groups: low BMI (≤18.

To avoid postoperative adhesion and promote tendon healing, we developed and synthesized a membrane to wrap the surgical site after tendon suturing. The bilayer-structured porous membrane comprised an outer layer [1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether cross-linked with carboxymethyl cellulose (CX)] and an inner layer [1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether cross-linked with polysaccharides and carboxymethyl cellulose (CXB)].

The clinical significance of changes in the ratio of CA19-9 levels to total bilirubin (TB) levels in patients with GBC after curative-intent resection remains unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the prognostic value of changes in preoperative and postoperative CA19-9/TB ratio in these patients.

Objectives: Between 2011 and 2021, 679 patients from two randomized phase III trials and one phase II trial were enrolled.
Designs: We collected 11 baseline clinicopathological and 14 hematological parameters to establish a prognostic index.
The adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) regeneration system can significantly reduce the cost of many biocatalytic processes. Numerous studies have endeavored to utilize the ATP regeneration system based on PPK (PPK). However, the wild-type PPK enzyme possesses limitations such as low enzymatic activity, poor stability, and limited substrate tolerance, impeding its application in catalytic reactions.
