Article Synopsis
  • Non-intubated video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for small pulmonary nodules (SPNs) can lead to quicker recovery, but locating these nodules during surgery is challenging for surgeons.
  • The study compared two preoperative positioning techniques (pulmonary-nodule-location-needle and microcoil) against a group with no localization to determine their effectiveness in aiding nodule identification during surgery.
  • Results showed that both positioning techniques reduced operation time and intraoperative blood loss, with the P-N-L-N group performing better in both aspects compared to the microcoil group.
