The redclaw crayfish, , is an economically valuable freshwater crayfish. However, some production obstacles, such as a low egg hatching rate and asynchronous hatching, are hindering its development in the aquaculture industry. Artificial incubation of eggs may solve these problems.

A monthly investigation was conducted on the macrozoobenthos at 7 stations of Fenshuijiang Reservoir in Zhejiang Province of East China from November 2008 to October 2009. A total of 37 taxa were collected, most of which belonged to Oligocheata and Chironomidae. Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri was dominant in spring, summer and autumn, and Chironomus gr.

Based on the 2008-2009 survey data of fishery resources and eco-environment of Fenshuijiang Reservoir, a mass balance model for the Reservoir ecosystem was constructed by Ecopath with Ecosim software. The model was composed of 14 functional groups, including silver carp, bighead carp, Hemibarbus maculates, Cutler alburnus, Microlepis and other fishes, Oligochaeta, aquatic insect, zooplankton, phytoplankton, and organic detritus, etc. , being able to better simulate Fenshuijiang Reservoir ecosystem.

Ikaros is an important transcription factor involved in the development and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. In this work, we found that chemotherapeutic drugs or ultraviolet radiation (UV) treatment could reduce the expression of full-length Ikaros (IK1) protein in less than 3h in leukemic NB4, Kasumi-1 and Jurkat cells, prior to the activation of caspase-3. Etoposide treatment could not alter the mRNA level of IK1 but it could shorten the half-life of IK1.

RIG-G is a retinoic acid- or interferon-induced gene with potential anti-proliferation function. However, the mechanism underlying ATRA-induced RIG-G induction is not completely understood. Here, we demonstrate that ATRA up-regulates the expression of PU.

All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), a natural ligand for the retinoic acid receptors (RARs), induces clinical remission in most acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) patients through the induction of differentiation and/or eradication of leukemia-initiating cells. Here, we identify a novel natural ent-kaurene diterpenoid derived from Isodon pharicus leaves, called pharicin B, that can rapidly stabilize RAR-α protein in various acute myeloid leukemic (AML) cell lines and primary leukemic cells from AML patients, even in the presence of ATRA, which is known to induce the loss of RAR-α protein. Pharicin B also enhances ATRA-dependent the transcriptional activity of RAR-α protein in the promyelocytic leukemia-RARα-positive APL cell line NB4 cells.

Using the cDNA of rye cytoplasmic ribosomal protein ScRPS7 as a query probe, a highly homologous rice genomic contig was obtained from Huada rice genome database. The full-length cDNA sequence of rice cytoplasmic ribosomal protein S7 was assembled by informatics based on the contig. Furthermore, with the two primers designed according to this assembled cDNA, the full-length cDNA of rice ribosomal protein was cloned by RT-PCR and named as OsRPS7.
