Objective: This study intends to carry out a systematic review and meta-analysis of electroacupuncture combined with TDP in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis.
Methods: CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, PubMed, Embase and Cochrane databases were searched for literatures on randomized or quasi-randomized controlled trials of electroacupuncture combined with TDP in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis, and the references of the included studies were searched. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata15.
Purpose: To develop a nomogram based on liver CT and clinical features to preoperatively predict lung metastasis (LM) secondary to hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE).
Methods: A total of 291 consecutive HAE patients from Institution A undergoing preoperative abdominal contrast-enhanced CT and chest unenhanced CT were retrospectively reviewed, and were randomly divided into the training and internal validation sets at the 7:3 ratio. 82 consecutive patients from Institution B were enrolled as an external validation set.
Endothelial hyperpermeability is pivotal in sepsis-associated multi-organ dysfunction. Increased von Willebrand factor (vWF) plasma levels, stemming from activated platelets and endothelium injury during sepsis, can bind to integrin αvβ3, exacerbating endothelial permeability. Hence, targeting this pathway presents a potential therapeutic avenue for sepsis.

In our present study, we observed that exposure to cold temperature (CT) decreased bone mass and quality in mice.

The products of the assembly systems can be further engineered to generate functionalities for specific purposes. These bionanoparticles have demonstrated advantages such as immune system evasion, minimal toxicity, biocompatibility, and biological clearance.

This study investigates the potential of NPs, particularly those comprised of high atomic number elements, as radiosensitizers. This aims to optimize localized radiation doses within tumors, thereby maximizing therapeutic efficacy while preserving surrounding tissues.

Unfortunately, patients with attenuated MHC-I expression remain refractory to ICIs, and druggable targets for upregulating MHC-I are limited. Here, we found that genetic or pharmacologic inhibition of fatty acid synthase (FASN) increased MHC-I levels in HCC cells, promoting antigen presentation and stimulating antigen-specific CD8+ T-cell cytotoxicity.

The species in this genus are mainly canopy-dominant trees, and the key components of evergreen broadleaved forests play a crucial role in the maintenance of local biodiversity. Castanopsis chinensis, distributed from South China to Vietnam, is a representative species.

This research paper aims to investigate the role of pyroptosis induction in cancer treatment. Pyroptosis, a form of programmed cell death characterized by the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the formation of plasma membrane pores, has gained significant attention as a potential target for cancer therapy.

As a result, phytosanitary treatments are necessary to ensure the commodities of international trade are free from these pests. To determine the minimum absorbed dose required for phytosanitary irradiation (PI) application, irradiation dose-response and large-scale confirmatory tests were conducted.

Infested commodities in international trade should undergo phytosanitary treatment, and irradiation is recommended as a viable alternative to replace methyl bromide fumigation. Dose-response tests were conducted on the 2-, 4-, and 6-day-old eggs and gravid females of .

In the present study, we established a 6-surface system for the ACP based on anatomical landmarks and analyzed its value in guiding ACP drilling and resection of paraclinoid meningiomas.
Methods: Using the anatomical characteristics of 10 dry skull specimens, we set 9 anatomical landmarks to delineate the ACP into 6 surfaces.

Emerging evidence has shown the importance of the tumor microenvironment in tumorigenesis and progression. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are one of the most infiltrated stroma cells of the tumor microenvironment in gastrointestinal tumors. CAFs play crucial roles in tumor development and therapeutic response by biologically secreting soluble factors or structurally remodeling the extracellular matrix.

The synthesized derivatives showed more appropriate octanol/water partition coefficients by up to values 3-4 compared to unmodified QPA substrates. In addition, these compounds exhibited significant antiproliferative activity against colorectal cancer cells and lower toxicity on normal cells, resulting in more significant selectivity indices than unmodified QPA compounds in vitro.

The fabrication of two-dimensional crystals (2DCs) has attracted very large interest because it creates materials with various surface structural features and special surface properties. Normally, this is limited to sheets networked together with strong covalent or coordination bonds. Against this understanding, we discovered macroscopic scale free-standing 2DCs in the aqueous dispersions of [Cmim]X (X = Br, NO; = 14, 16, 18) using simultaneous synchrotron small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering techniques.

Epigenetics regulates gene expression and has been confirmed to play a critical role in a variety of metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), osteoporosis, gout, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism and others. The term 'epigenetics' was firstly proposed in 1942 and with the development of technologies, the exploration of epigenetics has made great progresses. There are four main epigenetic mechanisms, including DNA methylation, histone modification, chromatin remodelling, and noncoding RNA (ncRNA), which exert different effects on metabolic diseases.

The human cornea covers the front of the eyeball, which protects the eye from the outside environment while allowing vision. The location and function demand the cornea to maintain its transparency and to continuously renew its epithelial surface by replacing injured or aged cells through a rapid turnover process in which corneal stem/progenitor cells play an important role.

In recent years, new technologies have been developed, such as neuronavigation and three-dimensional volume rendering imaging, that can guide in exposing the TSSJ point individually. However, they are not only expensive but also difficult to apply in emergency surgery.

In particular, whether and when to place external ventricle drainage in TICH patients without acute hydrocephalus pre-operation is still controversial.
Methods: A single-institutional, retrospective analysis of total of 47 TICH patients with craniectomy hematoma evacuation in a tertiary medical center from January 2009 to October 2020 was performed.
