[Hyperspectral inversion of paddy soil iron oxide in typical subtropical area with Pearl River Delta, China as illustration].

Iron oxide is the main form of iron element existing in the soil. In subtropical areas, the high-content iron oxide constitutes the soil's important coloring components, or its mineral substances, such as goethite and hematite, making the soil color apparently different from that in other climatic zones. The present paper, with the Pearl River Delta, a typical subtropical area, as illustration, and through analysis of the correlation between different spectral forms and the content of soil iron oxide, created inversion models of soil iron oxide by extracting characteristic spectral bands.

Synthesis, crystal structure and photophysical properties of 1,4-bis(1,3-diazaazulen-2-yl)benzene: a new π building block.

A dimerized 1,3-diazaazulene derivative, namely 1,4-bis(1,3-diazaazulen-2-yl)benzene [or 2,2'-(1,4-phenylene)bis(1,3-diazaazulene)], CHN, (I), has been synthesized successfully through the condensation reaction between 2-methoxytropone and benzene-1,4-dicarboximidamide hydrochloride, and was characterized by H NMR and C NMR spectroscopies, and ESI-MS. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that (I) has a nearly planar structure with good π-electron delocalization, indicating that it might serve as a π building block. The crystal belongs to the monoclinic system.

Morphologic classification of microvessels in hepatocellular carcinoma is associated with the prognosis after resection.

Background And Aim: The relationship between neovasculature in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the prognosis of patients still remains controversial. The aim of the present study was to investigate the prognostic significance of morphologic features of the microvessels in patients with HCC after resection.

Methods: The paraffin-embedding specimens of 98 consecutive HCC patients, who received primary resection between 2000 and 2002, were collected from our prospective established tumor bank.

Modulation of platelet and leucocyte function by a Chinese herbal formulation as compared with conventional antiplatelet agents.

Platelet and leucocyte activity are important in the acute development of thrombosis and in the pathogenesis of ischaemic vascular disease. Dan Shen Di Wan (DS, Cardiotonic Pill or Dantonic(R) Pill) is one of the most commonly used Chinese herbal formulations for treating patients with atherosclerotic disease in China and several Asian countries. We studied the effect of DS on platelet and leucocyte function and compared the effects with conventional antiplatelet agents, cangrelor (ADP P2Y(12) receptor antagonist) and aspirin (acetyl salicylic acid, ASA).
