The mechanisms underlying antigen receptor germline gene diversification have always been a topic of intensive study. Here, we discovered that the frequency of stem-loop sequences in the antigen receptor germline gene region is remarkably higher than the genomic background. By analyzing these stem-loop sequences' similarity and distribution patterns, we found that clustered regularly interspaced homologous stem-loop pairs (CRIHSP) are widely present on the germline genes of antigen receptors in different species.

This study evaluated the role of probiotics in enhancing intestinal immunity and mitigating polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs)-induced toxicity in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella). Grass carp were fed probiotics (Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus velezensis, Lactobacillus reuteri, and Lactococcus lactis) for two weeks before being exposed to PS-NPs for five days. Probiotic pretreatment alleviated PS-NPs-induced intestinal damage, with Bacillus velezensis and Lactococcus lactis groups showing milder vacuolation and villus breakage than other groups.

The electrochemical synthesis of hydrogen peroxide from oxygen and water, powered by renewable electricity, provides a highly attractive alternative to the energy-intensive autoxidation process presently used in industry, but much remains unknown about this two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e-ORR), especially the local proton effect. Here, we have investigated the function of hydrogen-associated intermediates in the 2e-ORR using a rationally designed cooperative electrode material with cobalt (II) clusters embedded onto the oxidized carbon nanotube composites (Co-OCNT). We found that the local proton availability can determine both the reaction kinetics and selectivity.

The human-derived NK-92 cell-based CAR-NK therapy exhibits inconsistency with overall suboptimal efficacy and rapid in vivo clearance of CAR-NK92 cells in cancer patients. Analysis indicates that although pre-existing IgM in healthy individuals (n = 10) strongly recognizes both NK-92 and CAR-NK92 cells, IgG and IgE do not.
