Purpose: Head injury criterion (HIC) companied by a rotation-based metric was widely believed to be helpful for head injury prediction in road traffic accidents. Recently, the Euro-New Car Assessment Program utilized a newly developed metric called diffuse axonal multi-axis general evaluation (DAMAGE) to explain test device for human occupant restraint (THOR) head injury, which demonstrated excellent ability in capturing concussions and diffuse axonal injuries. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive understanding regarding the effectiveness of using DAMAGE for Hybrid Ⅲ 50th percentile male dummy (H50th) head injury assessment.

In this study, it is found that intra-tumoral TLS abundance is significantly correlated with recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS). Tumor tissues with TLS are characterized by inflammatory signatures and high infiltration of antitumor immune cells, while those without TLS exhibit uncontrolled cell cycle progression and activated mTOR signaling by bulk and single-cell RNA-seq analyses.

Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) has emerged as a promising alternative to oral anticoagulation for high-risk patients with atrial fibrillation. However, despite the potential benefits, there is still the possibility of life-threatening complications such as device dislocation.

Several therapeutic treatments, including sorafenib and regorafenib, have only modestly improved survival in patients with HCC. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression profiles and the regulation of competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) of the sorafenib-related target genes in HCC.

Methods: We enrolled 1,486 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). The TyG index was calculated in the log-transformed of triglycerides multipled by glucose, and the presence of AAC was diagnosed as AAC score above than 0.
Objective: The aim of this study was to test the hypothesis whether serum level of calpains could become a meaningful biomarker for diagnosis of acute lung injury (ALI) in clinical after cardiac surgery using cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) technology.
Methods And Results: Seventy consecutive adults underwent cardiac surgery with CPB were included in this prospective study. Based on the American-European Consensus Criteria (AECC), these patients were divided into ALI ( = 20, 28.
The mechanisms of collision avoidance (CA) behaviours in interweaving pedestrian flow movements are important for pedestrian space planning and emergency management but not well understood yet. In this paper, a series of controlled interweaving pedestrian flow experiments with different densities are carried out to investigate the CA behaviours, especially CA strategy choices. Four types of CA strategies are manually identified in these experiments.

Therefore, controlling the paving temperature is crucial in the construction of asphalt pavements. To quickly evaluate the road performance of asphalt mixtures during paving, in this work, we used unmanned aerial vehicle infrared thermal imaging technology to monitor the construction work.

Development of rapid, sensitive, and selective method for pathogenic bacteria detection is of great importance for food safety, medical diagnostic, and environmental monitoring. Currently, most techniques for low numbers of bacteria detection require advanced instrumentation or skilled operators. Herein, we present a facile colorimetric detection platform for bacterial detection using Ag nanoplates as chromogenic substrate, which takes advantages of the high specificity and affinity of aptamer and the ability of catalase to hydrolyze HO that can etch Ag nanoplates.

Methods: The data of 120 organ donors and recipients from January 2018 to May 2020 were retrospectively analyzed at The Liver Transplantation Center of Beijing Youan Hospital, Capital Medical University, to investigate the epidemiological status of CRO in donors. The cases were divided into two groups.

Aims: To determine the association between urinary levels of perchlorate, nitrate and thiocyanate, and the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) among general population.
Methods: A total of 16, 570 participants were enrolled from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES). Urinary levels of perchlorate, nitrate and thiocyanate were measured using ion chromatography coupled with electrospray tandem mass spectrometry.
The effects of ozone on hippocampal expression levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and c-fos protein (Fos) were evaluated in rats with chronic compression of dorsal root ganglia (CCD). Forty-eight adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into the following 4 groups ( = 12): sham operation (sham group), CCD group, CCD with 20 g/ml of ozone (CCD + AO group), and CCD with 40 g/ml of ozone (CCD + BO group). Except the sham group, unilateral L5 dorsal root ganglion (DRG) compression was performed on all other groups.

A total of 17,982 participants were enrolled from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and urinary perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate are measured using ion chromatography coupled with electrospray tandem mass spectrometry. Multivariable linear and logistic regression models were performed to explore the associations between urinary perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate with all-cause and cause-specific mortality.

Background: This study aims to investigate the regulatory effect of microRNA-96-5p (miR-96-5p) in the pathophysiological process of allergic rhinitis (AR).
Methods: Nasal mucosal tissue samples were collected from AR patients and healthy controls. An in vitro AR model was established by stimulating human nasal epithelial cells (HNECs) with interleukin (IL)-13.

Giant lesions in the liver and invasion of the pathogen into the retrohepatic inferior vena cava are usually associated with a poor prognosis when radical resection cannot be performed.
