Objective: As the population ages and technology advances, lateral lumbar intervertebral fusion (LLIF) is gaining popularity for the treatment of degenerative lumbar scoliosis (DLS). This study investigated the feasibility, minimally invasive concept, and benefits of LLIF for the treatment of DLS by observing and assessing the clinical efficacy, imaging changes, and complications following the procedure.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed for 52 DLS patients (12 men and 40 women, aged 65.
Background: Our objective was to assess the viability and oncological security of a gasless, transaxillary single-incision endoscopic procedure for performing total thyroidectomy and bilateral central neck dissection (TT + BCND). This study focused on patients diagnosed with bilateral papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC).
Method: Between April 2020 and November 2021, 22 patients with bilateral PTMC underwent single-incision, gasless, transaxillary endoscopic TT + BCND.
Background: Astaxanthin (AST) is a natural compound with anti-inflammatory/immunomodulatory properties that has been found to have probiotic properties. However, the role and mechanism of AST in chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) are still not fully understood.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of AST on CP/CPPS and elucidate the mediating role of the gut microbiota.
Surgical site infections (SSIs) that occur after hypospadias repair frequently result in incision healing complications, especially during puberty. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of twice-daily pre-operative skin preparation using body wash and povidone-iodine within 48 hours before hypospadias repair with regard to infection rates in adolescents. Prospective recruitment included patients in Tanner stages 3 to 5 undergoing hypospadias repair from January 2015 to January 2021.

The safety of this new method has been reported in a retrospective study of a single cohort. The safety and short-term oncological outcome of this method was confirmed by comparing it with conventional open surgery (COT) in patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed of 496 patients who underwent percutaneous lumbar disc decompression using low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation nucleus pulposus from June 2009 to June 2019. Six patients had lumbar infection, and the infection rate was 1.
As the most promising candidates for the implementation of in-sensor computing, retinomorphic vision sensors can constitute built-in neural networks and directly implement multiply-and-accumulation operations using responsivities as the weights. However, existing retinomorphic vision sensors mainly use a sustained gate bias to maintain the responsivity due to its volatile nature. Here, we propose an ion-induced localized-field strategy to develop retinomorphic vision sensors with nonvolatile tunable responsivity in both positive and negative regimes and construct a broadband and reconfigurable sensory network with locally stored weights to implement in-sensor convolutional processing in spectral range of 400 to 1800 nanometers.

Background: Several epidemiological investigations demonstrated that maternal arsenic (As) exposure elevated risk of fetal growth restriction (FGR), but the mechanism remains unclear.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effects of gestational As exposure on placental and fetal development and its underlying mechanism.
Methods: Dams were exposed to 0.
Objective: To report a case of macular injury caused by short-term exposure to a handheld high-intensity light emitting diode (LED) light.
Design: Interventional case report.
Participant: A patient with macular injury caused by short-term exposure to the light of a handheld high-intensity LED device.
The multifunctional tuning of solid-state dielectric switches constructed from organic-inorganic hybrid materials (OIHMs) has received great attention. In particular, molecular ferroelastics with dielectric phase transitions have considerable potential in the optical and electrical fields owing to their adjustable structures and physical features. However, it remains a challenge to effectively design ferroelastics with high phase transition temperature ().

Based on our concept of mesothyroid excision in open surgery, we proposed a novel anatomy-based five-settlement method in ET the GUA approach. This preliminary report aimed to explore the efficacy and safety of this method in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).

Background: Inconsistent relationships have been shown between cigarette smoking and hypospadias in offspring. The purpose of this study was to summarize epidemiological evidence to evaluate the relationship between parental smoking and the risk of hypospadias.
Methods: Up until October 2022, PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library were systematically searched for qualified research.
Background: The response of advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) to immunotherapy is still not durable, suggesting that the immune landscape of ccRCC still needs to be refined, especially as some molecules that have synergistic effects with immune checkpoint genes need to be explored.
Methods: The expression levels of CENPM and its relationship with clinicopathological features were explored using the ccRCC dataset from TCGA and GEO databases. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) analysis was performed to validate the expression of CENPM in renal cancer cell lines.
Numerous temperate plants and animals on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP) are hypothesized to have differentiated due to vicariant allopatric speciation associated with the geologic uplifts. However, this hypothesis has rarely been tested through a phylogeographic study of relative species in a broader geographic context, including the QTP, Tianshan Mountains, Mongolian Plateau, and surrounding regions. To understand the speciation and diversification process of plants across this wide area, phylogeographic analysis were examined from and two other closely relative species comprising and .

At present, it has become the leading cause of SCI in children, and brings a heavy social and economic burden. Both domestic and foreign academic institutions and dance education organizations lack a correct understanding of PAHSCI and relevant standards, specifications or guidelines.

However, there are few reports on sensitive reversible thermochromism and switchable dual emission originating from self-trapped exciton emission in pure Mn-Based materials. Here, we report a new Mn-based hybrid material [TMPA]MnI (TMPA = trimethylphenylammonium), which shows two emission peaks at 545 and 660 nm benefitting from the d-d orbital transition of Mn and the generation of self-trapped excitons, respectively.
