Introduction: Atorvastatin, one of the most widely used drugs, has attracted controversy regarding its potential adverse reactions to acute kidney injury(AKI). This study aims to provide evidence in support of the safe use of atorvastatin.
Areas Covered: Reports with atorvastatin as the primary suspect drug were extracted from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) and categorized into five groups: general population, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), ischemic stroke (IS), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and hyperlipidemia (HLD).
Cardiovascular disease (CVD), a global health concern, particularly coronary artery disease (CAD), poses a significant threat to well-being. Seeking safer and cost-effective diagnostic alternatives to invasive coronary angiography, noninvasive coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) gains prominence. This study employed OpenFOAM, an open-source Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, to analyze hemodynamic parameters in coronary arteries with serial stenoses.

Autonomic nervous regulation plays a critical role in end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients with cardiovascular complications. However, studies on autonomic regulation in ESKD patients are limited to heart rate variability (HRV) analysis. Skin sympathetic nerve activity (SKNA), which noninvasively reflects the sympathetic nerve activity, has not been used in ESKD patients.
