CsNdNbO is a hybrid improper ferroelectric (HIF) where oxygen octahedral rotation modes induce spontaneous polarization. While CsLaNbO is also believed to be an HIF, its polar structure and ferroelectric properties remain poorly understood. This study investigates their solid solution, CsLaNdNbO, by constructing a temperature-composition phase diagram using synchrotron X-ray diffractometry, first-principles calculations, and dielectric measurements.

Methods: A total of 360 1-day-old Ross 308 broilers were randomly assigned into 5 groups, each with 6 replicates of 12 broilers per treatment. The control group was fed a basal diet without any copper supplementation.
A certain amount of selenium (Se) is usually added to the diet of laying hens to improve the quality and nutritional value of eggs. The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of selenium-rich black soldier fly (BSF) supplementation in diets on laying production performance, egg quality, serum indexes, and egg selenium content of Hy-line variety brown laying hens. A total of 288 at 49-week-old healthy laying hens were divided into 3 treatment groups with 6 replicates per group and 16 hens per replicate using a single-factor completely randomized design.

Methods: Four hundred and fifty Arbor Acres (AA) broilers at 42 days of age were divided into 5 groups with 6 replicates in each group and 15 chickens as one replicate. Following this period, broilers from each group were distributed among five groups according to preslaughter fasting period as 4, 8, 12, 16, or 20 h.
Inorganic salts with multiple anions have recently received increasing interest in view of their structural diversity and multifunctional properties, and oxysulfides are one type of such salts. Here, three novel oxysulfides YZrSO (1), YHfSO (2), and TmZSO (3) are obtained by high-temperature solid-state reactions. They crystallize with the orthorhombic space group Pbam and their three-dimensional structures featuring MSO (M = Zr, Hf) motifs built an unprecedented {[MSO]} wrinkle layer.

As the second selenide borate, YSeBO obtained by a high-temperature solid-state reaction crystallizes in the noncentrosymmetric orthorhombic space group 2 with a novel structure type. Its structure consists of two basic building units, [BO] planar triangles and [YOSe] pentagonal bipyramids, and features the [YSeBO] planar belt.

Both of them crystallize in noncentrosymmetric R3 m, featuring van der Waals interaction linked CHI tetrahedra or SbI trigonal pyramids with crown-like S molecules. Both 1 and 2 show strong SHG responses and phase matchability under either 1.
