Morroniside can prevent myocardial injury caused by ischemia and hypoxia, which can be used to treat acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Hypoxia can cause apoptosis and autophagic death of cardiomyocytes. Morroniside has the ability to inhibit apoptosis and autophagy.
