Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is a powerful analytical method that is especially suitable for the detection of protein molecules. Detection sensitivity of SERS is directly related to the enhancement factor of the substrate, which is dependent on the strength of a local surface electric field generated by surface plasmonic resonance from substrate. In this study, an electromagnetic induced transparency like (EIT-like) metamaterial was used as the SERS substrate.
