Colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis is challenging for improved clinical outcomes. The casein kinase 2 alpha 1 (CSNK2A1) is an oncogene involved in several cancers. This study aimed to investigate the influence of CSNK2A1 on CRC progression and the related molecular mechanism.

Polymorphisms of ATG5 Gene Are Associated with Autoimmune Thyroid Diseases, Especially Thyroid Eye Disease.

Objective: To explore the association of gene polymorphisms with autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITDs) including Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and Graves' illness (GD) as well as their clinical features.

Methods: rs6568431, rs548234, and rs6937876 were selected to investigate the correlation of single-nucleotide polymorphisms of gene with AITDs. Their frequencies in 824 AITD patients, including 271 HT patients and 553 GD patients, and 764 healthy controls were tested using both ligase detection reaction and multiplex polymerase chain reaction.

Safety and operational impacts of setting speed limits below engineering recommendations.

This study quantifies the operational and safety impacts of setting posted speed limits below engineering recommendations using field data from rural roads in Montana. Vehicle operating speeds and historical crash data were collected at multiple sites with posted speed limits set equal to engineering recommendations and sites with posted speed limits set lower than engineering recommendations. Linear, quantile and logistic regression models were estimated to predict mean operating speed, 85th percentile operating speed and speed limit compliance, respectively, as a function of various roadway characteristics and level of speed enforcement.
