Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a central nervous system degenerative disease with a stealthy onset and a progressive course characterized by memory loss, cognitive dysfunction, and abnormal psychological and behavioral symptoms. However, the pathogenesis of AD remains elusive. An increasing number of studies have shown that oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPCs) and oligodendroglial lineage cells (OLGs), especially OPCs and mature oligodendrocytes (OLGs), which are derived from OPCs, play important roles in the pathogenesis of AD.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFUsing -isopropyl acrylamide (NIPAM) as the main monomer, 1-vinyl imidazole (VIM) containing tertiary amine groups as the functional comonomer, and 1,5-dibromo pentane as the crosslinking agent, ionic P(NIPAM--VIM) microgels were prepared by a two-step method. The crosslinking agent was reacted with tertiary amino groups by the quaternary amination. The results of zeta potential and particle size analysis showed that P(NIPAM--VIM) microgels were positively charged and had a particle size of about 400 nm, and the microgels with 11 wt% VIM still showed temperature sensitivity with a volume phase transition temperature of approximately 37.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFUsing -isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and acrylic acid (AAc) as monomers, ,'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a cross-linking agent, and molybdenum disulfide (MoS) as functional particles, a P(NIPAM--AAc)/MoS composite hydrogel was prepared by free radical polymerization initiated by ultraviolet light. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy show that MoS has been successfully introduced into the P(NIPAM--AAc) system, and the obtained composite hydrogel has a porous network structure. Studies on the swelling property and dye adsorption performance show that the addition of MoS can increase the swelling ratio of P(NIPAM--AAc) hydrogels to a certain extent and can significantly improve the ability of the P(NIPAM--AAc) hydrogel to adsorb methylene blue (MB).

Results: Oral administration of rats with rGGT alleviated joint pain in the acute phase of iodoacetate (IA)-induced OA. The CXCL1/IL-6 in blood and in articular tissue as well as circulating granulocytes in the recipients of GGT, were reduced.

Methods: We retrospectively compared the MRIs of 54 patients who had previously undergone either rigid internal fixation of the lumbar spine or ISOBAR TTL dynamic fixation for the treatment of lumbar spondylolisthesis. All patients had received preoperative and 6-, 12-, and 24-month postoperative MRI scans of the lumbar spine with acquisition of both routine and diffusion-weighted images (DWI).
