Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection is globally distributed, and the liver is one of the major targeting organs. So far, the mechanisms for cell and organ damage have not fully been elucidated and the treatments for the infection are mainly at symptoms. IL-37 has shown a protective role in certain inflammatory diseases.

Given that the current diagnosis and therapeutic strategy of KD are mainly dependent on clinical experiences, further research to explore its pathological mechanisms is warranted.
Methods: Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to measure the serum levels of SIGIRR, TLR4 and caspase-8.
Background: Albumin (ALB) level is closely associated with the occurrence of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) resistance and coronary artery lesions (CALs) in Kawasaki disease (KD). The association between ALB level and CALs progression, is critical to the prognosis of KD patients. But little is known about it.

It has been regarded as the principal cause of acquired heart disease in children of the developed countries. Interleukin (IL)-37, as one of the IL-1 family members, is a natural suppressor of inflammation that is caused by activation of innate and adaptive immunity.

However, there are few large-scale studies on the pathogens causing PBM and their antimicrobial resistance (AMR) patterns in China. The present multicenter survey summarized the features of the etiological agents of PBM and characterized their AMR patterns.

SMCs also play a significant role in obedience and elastic rebound of the artery in response to the haemodynamic condition. However, under pathological or stressed conditions, phenotype switching from contractile to synthetic state or other cell types will occur in SMCs to positively or negatively contribute to disease progression.

Method: This study was performed at Yuying Children's Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from Mar. 2008 to Dec.
Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) in children is associated with multiple system morbidities. Cognitive dysfunction as a result of central nervous system complication has been reported in children with OSAHS. However, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood.

Methods: A total of 48 male healthy Sprague-Dawley rats (3-4-week-old, 80-100 g) were randomly divided into 4 groups: 2-week-CIH (2IH) group, 4-week-CIH (4IH) group, 2-week-control (2C) group and 4-week-control (4C) group. The morphologic changes were observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and cell apoptosis detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling assay.

Objective: Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) may cause serious morbidities, such as systemic hypertension, diabetes, and cor pulmonale. However, currently no many reports on study of OSAHS in children are available. This study aimed to explore the effects of OSAHS on children's multiple systems.
