Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease. Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is a tenosynovial giant cell tumor that can involve joints. The mechanisms of co-morbidity between the two diseases have not been thoroughly explored.

Gαi proteins recruitment to various RTKs mediates downstream oncogenic signaling activation. The expression, functions and underlying mechanisms of Gαi3 in human OS were examined.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility to culture rabbit annulus fibrosus cells on the KLD-12 polypeptide nanofiber gel so as to search for the seed cells and the scaffolds for tissue engineering.
Methods: The rabbit annulus fibrosus cells were isolated with pancreatin and cultured; the cells at passage 3 were seeded on the KLD-12 polypeptide nanofiber gel to prepare the KLD-12 polypeptide/annulus fibrosus cells gel. The cell morphology change was observed by inverted microscope.
Objective: To develop tissue engineering scaffolds consisting of self-assembling KLD-12 polypeptide/TGF-β1 nanofiber gel, for the induction of mesenchymal stem cell (MSCs) differentiation into nucleus pulposus (NP)-like cells.
Methods: The release of TGF-β1 from KLD-12 polypeptide gels containing varying TGF-β1 concentrations was detected by ELISA. MSCs were isolated with a density gradient method and their differentiation into NP-like cells was analyzed in KLD-12 polypeptide/TGF-β1- or KLD-12 polypeptide control nanofiber-gel 3D-cultures.
