Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma with EWSR1-CREB1 gene fusion occurs in lungs and ribs with systemic multiple metastases: a case report and review of the literature.

Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH) is a rare soft tissue tumor with intermediate malignant potential, and it rarely metastasizes. We encountered a unique AFH case where, the tumor was discovered initially in unusual locations-the left lung and the left 4th rib. Combined histological features with FISH and NGS analysis, the diagnosis of AFH was supported, however, it is difficult to determine which of these two is the primary lesion.

Whole‑exome sequencing insights into synchronous bilateral breast cancer with discordant molecular subtypes.

The incidence of synchronous bilateral breast cancer (SBBC) is very low, and SBBC with discordant molecular subtypes is even more uncommon. As such, little is known about the pathogenesis of SBBC with discordant molecular subtypes, and reports about this entity are scarce. In the present study, the case of a 72-year-old female patient who presented with SBBC with discordant molecular subtypes is reported, with a stage IA hormone receptor negative {human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 [HER2(+)]} tumor in the left breast and a stage IIIA hormone sensitive tumor [HER2(-)] in the right breast.

Association of WHSC1/NSD2 and T-cell infiltration with prostate cancer metastasis and prognosis.

Progress in immunotherapy for prostate cancer (PCa) lags that for other cancers, mainly because of limited immune infiltration in PCa. This study aimed to assess the feasibility of NSD2 as an immunotherapeutic target in PCa. Immunohistochemistry was performed to evaluate the expression pattern of NSD2 in 34 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), 36 cases of prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN), and 57 cases of PCa, including 19 cases of metastatic castration-resistant prostatic cancer (mCRPC).

Delayed pulmonary metastasis and recurrence of intracranial malignant solitary fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma: Case report and literature review.

Solitary fibrous tumors/hemangiopericytomas (SFTs/HPCs) are intracranial spindle cell tumors that originate from interstitial tissue. SFTs/HPCs that are primary malignant intracranial tumors are exceedingly uncommon. A case of intracranial malignant SFT/HPC that originated intracranially and spread to the pulmonary region is described herein.

Overexpression of EZH2/NSD2 Histone Methyltransferase Axis Predicts Poor Prognosis and Accelerates Tumor Progression in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer.

Two histone methyltransferases, enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) and nuclear SET domain-containing 2 (NSD2), are aberrantly expressed in several types of human cancers. However, the regulatory relationship between EZH2 and NSD2 and their prognostic values in breast cancer (BC) have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we demonstrated that EZH2 and NSD2 were overexpressed in BC compared with benign lesions and normal tissues using tissue microarray, immunohistochemistry, and bioinformatic databases.

Prevalence and genotype distribution of human papillomavirus infection among women: A population-based study in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China.

Accumulating evidence indicates that persistent infection with high-risk oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes is the most important risk factor for cervical cancer, and that the distribution of HPV genotypes varies regionally. This study explored the prevalence and genotype distribution of HPV infection among Han, Yi, and Bai women in various regions of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. This cross-sectional study included 2779 women (20-76 years old) who were referred for 21-HPV genotype array diagnostic from five regions of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture between February 2013 and May 2016.

[Histological analysis of the anterior lobe region in transurethral prostatectomy].

Objective: To explore the possibility of injury to the striated urethral sphincter by incision to the anterior lobe region in transurethral prostatectomy.

Methods: We incised the anterior lobe region of 60 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) undergoing transurethral prostatectomy. The patients were divided into four groups according to the incision fields: proximate superficial (group 1), proximate deep (group 2), distal superficial (group 3) and distal deep (group 4).

Cystic tumour of the atrioventricular node: a case report and review of the literature.

Cystic tumour of the atrioventricular node is a rare primary cardiac tumour that can cause complete heart block and sudden death. Here, we describe a male case aged 42 years who suddenly died without a medical and family history of cardiac illnesses. After detailed macroscopic and microscopic examinations, a cystic mass was found in the atrioventricular nodal region.
