Objective: To investigate the interaction between myocardial norepinephrine (NET) and protein interacting with kinase Cα (PICK1), and examine the myocardial expression pattern of NET and PICK1 in mice with adriamycin-induced congestive heart failure.

Methods: (1) Cellular experiments: 293T cells were transfected with NET, GFP-PICK1, NET+GFP-PICK1 or NET+GFP-PICK1(KD-AA), respectively. Immunofluorescence staining was performed 48 h after the transfection.

Purpose: G-protein coupled receptor 34 (GPR34), which belongs to the G-protein coupled receptors superfamily, is reportedly expressed highly in the spread of several solid tumors. However, its expression in gastric primary tumor and potential role in gastric cancer development and progression have not been determined.

Methods: Immunohistochemistry, real-time RT-PCR and western blot methods were used to determine GPR34 expression in human gastric cancer tissues/cell lines and matched adjacent tissues/ normal mucosal cell line.

A chemokine-like factor 1 (CKLF1) is a recently discovered chemokine with broad-spectrum biological functions in inflammation and autoimmune diseases. C19 as a CKLF1's C-terminal peptide has been reported to exert inhibitory effects in a variety of diseases. However, the roles of CKLF1 and C19 on vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) migration and neointima formation still remain elusive.

Background: Glycoprotein non-metastatic melanoma protein B (GPNMB) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory and malignant diseases. We investigated the expression of GPNMB in benign and malignant skin diseases.

Methods: Tissue microarray was performed in the skin tissues of 102 cases including malignant melanoma (MM), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and benign dermatosis.

Objective: To investigate the expression of glycoprotein non-metastatic melanoma protein B (GPNMB) in prostate cancer and its clinical significance.

Methods: The expression of GPNMB was analysed in 63 prostate cancer and 3 heterosexual hyperplasia prostate tissue and 8 benign prostatic hyperplasia samples by immunohistochemical staining, with integral optical density(IOD) value representing expression level of positive cells.

Results: The expression of GPNMB was lower in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, IOD=70 017.

Objective: To determine whether acute withdrawal of simvastatin treatment in healthy normocholesterolemic men impairs the brachial artery endothelial function.

Methods: The study was performed on 16 healthy, young male subjects with desirable serum levels of cholesterol. They were administered with simvastatin (20 mg/d) for 4 weeks.
