Aims: The electroencephalography (EEG) microstates are indicative of fundamental information processing mechanisms, which are severely damaged in patients with prolonged disorders of consciousness (pDoC). We aimed to improve the topographic analysis of EEG microstates and explore indicators available for diagnosis and prognosis prediction of patients with pDoC, which were still lacking.
Methods: We conducted EEG recordings on 59 patients with pDoC and 32 healthy controls.

Objective: To study the expression of Bcl-2 (B-cell lymphoma/leukemia-2) mRNA and Bcl-2 protein in nasal mucusa of rat in allergic rhinitis (AR) model.
Method: Twenty male or female SD rats, weighing 180-220 g, free of nasal diseases, were randomly divided into two groups. AR model was established through intraperitoneal injection of ovabumin (OVA) as well as nasal challenge with OVA.
Objectives/hypothesis: Cyclin D1 expression and the rate of apoptosis have been reported to serve as important prognostic indicators in human cancers. The purpose of the present study was to determine the prognostic significance of both initial cyclin D1 expression and the apoptotic index in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Study Design: Cohort study.
