Random ternary polymerization is a strategy for tuning the energy levels and improving the batch-to-batch reproducibility of polymer semiconductors for the application in polymer solar cells (PSCs). However, the influence of third component incorporation on exciton properties and charge photogeneration processes in terpolymer-based solar cells is still unclear. In this work, time-resolved spectroscopies were employed to study exciton properties and charge photogeneration processes in PSCs based on a series of terpolymers, PM1 and PM2, which have 20% and 50% of thiophene-thiazolothiazole (TTz) building blocks on the PM6 backbone, respectively.

As one of the commonly used methods for surface passivation of semiconductors, a heterostructure method was developed in this work to passivate surface traps of CsPbBr single crystals (SCs), and further, this method was correlated with carrier recombination processes. Herein, carrier recombination processes in bare and [MAPbCl][CsPbBr]-covered CsPbBr SCs were studied using time-resolved spectroscopic techniques, including steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL) spectroscopy and time-resolved microwave photoconductivity (TRMC). By comparing the kinetics of TRPL and TRMC, we concluded that surface hole-trapping process dominates the TRPL kinetics of bare CsPbBr SCs and surface electron-trapping process dominates the slower decay component in TRMC.

Effective treatment of diabetic wounds remains challenging because of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial infections, excessive oxidative stress, and impaired angiogenesis. In this study, a tissue-adhesive and antibacterial hydrogel incorporating MXene and deferoxamine (DFO)-loaded microspheres is developed for the treatment of MDR bacteria-infected diabetic wounds. The hydrogel is built based on covalent crosslinking between ε-poly(L-lysine) and o-phthalaldehyde-terminated four-arm poly(ethylene glycol).
