Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The dried fruit of Crataegus pinnatifida Bunge (Hawthorn in Chinese) is a traditional medicine used in China, Japan and Korea for thousands of years. Hawthorn is documented in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, as a folk medicine that is used to eliminate food, strengthen the stomach, move qi and dissipate blood stasis, treat stagnation of meat and food, gastric distention and fullness, and has anti-inflammatory effects. Vitexin, a flavonoid glycoside, is an important biologically active compound derived from Hawthorn, with significant antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Herein, we retrospectively investigated the efficacy and safety of hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) using oxaliplatin plus 5-FU/FUDR in patients with unresectable colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) who progressed following standard chemotherapy regimens.
Methods: From March 2017 to April 2023, CRC patients with unresectable CRLM who progressed following standard chemotherapy and subsequently received HAIC oxaliplatin plus 5-FU/FUDR were evaluated.
Background: Hepatic artery infusion (HAI) chemotherapy, particularly with floxuridine (FUDR), has previously shown effectiveness in improving recurrence-free survival (RFS) in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). Nonetheless, its adjuvant use alongside modern systemic chemotherapy remains unevaluated.
Patients And Methods: The HARVEST trial is an open-label, randomized, controlled study conducted from May 2018 to August 2021.
Objective: This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for assessing the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) by integrating radiomics and pathomics features using a particle swarm optimization-supported support vector machine (PSO-SVM).
Methods: A retrospective multi-center study was conducted, which included 389 NPC patients who received NACT from three institutions. Radiomics features were extracted from magnetic resonance imaging scans, while pathomics features were derived from histopathological images.
Microfluidic systems incorporating magnetic droplets have emerged as a focal point of significant interest within the biomedical domain. The allure of these systems lies in their capacity to offer precise control, enable contactless operation, and accommodate minimal sample concentration requirements. Such remarkable features serve to mitigate errors arising from human operation and other factors during cell or molecular detection.

Therefore, they have great potential for application in lithium-ion battery (LIB) anodes. In this work, an N, P co-doped precursor polymer material (MBP), synthesized via a one-pot method using bisphenol-A (C-source), melamine (N-source), and 9,10-Dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (P-source).

However, Gr anode exhibits an obstinate drawback of low initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE), owing to the active lithium loss for the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer. Herein, a straightforward and effective chemical pre-lithiation strategy is proposed to compensate for the lithium loss.

Herein, we propose an economical and effective method for constructing pre-lithiated core-shell SiO anodes with high ICE and stable interface during cycling. The lithium silicon alloy (LiSi) is used to react with SiO in advance, allowing for improved ICE of SiO without compromising its reversible specific capacity.

Objective: To assess clinical value of modified Shenling Baizhu powder (, SBP) in intervening targeted therapy-induced diarrhea.
Methods: This study was a prospective randomized controlled study. Eighty-five non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with diarrhea who took targeted drugs were randomly divided into two groups.
Background: Chronic inflammation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of overweight/obesity. Nuclear receptor subfamily 2, group E, member 1 (NR2E1) is one of the nuclear receptor family proteins that play crucial roles in regulating numerous life processes. In this study, we attempted to detect NR2E1 levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of overweight/obese people and preliminarily elucidate the regulatory role of NR2E1 in obesity-related chronic inflammation.

Metal fluorides are effective in promoting the dissociation of lithium salts via the establishment of the Li-F bond. However, too strong Li-F interaction would impair the fast migration of lithium ions.

Purpose: We aimed to develop and evaluate a new diagnostic method, the 'chicken-wing muscle up test', to improve the accuracy of diagnosis of glenolabral articular disruption (GLAD) lesions compared to currently used clinical tests for injuries to the labrum.
Methods: Preoperative evaluations were conducted on 85 patients undergoing arthroscopic surgery at a single center between July 2021 to July 2022. The diagnostic performance of the preoperative clinical examinations (chicken-wing muscle up test, O'Brien test, crank test, and O'Driscoll test) were validated against the findings of arthroscopic examinations.
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) has unique electrochemical oxidation resistance and is the only binder for high-voltage cathode materials in the battery industry for a long time. However, PVDF still has some drawbacks, such as environmental limitations on fluorine, strict requirements for environmental humidity, weak adhesion, and poor lithium ion conductivity. Herein, the long-standing issues associated with high-voltage lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO; LCO) are successfully addressed by incorporating phenolphthalein polyetherketone (PEK-C) and phenolphthalein polyethersulfone (PES-C) as binder materials.

In this study, we investigated astrocytic changes during the inflammatory state after ICH to identify new targets for improving the inflammatory response.
Methods: We stimulated mouse astrocytes with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and analyzed their transcriptomes via ribonucleic acid sequencing.
Genetic variants can affect gene expression by altering the level of N6-methyladenosine (mA) modifications. A better understanding of the association of these genetic variants with susceptibility to cervical cancer (CC) can promote advances in disease screening and treatment. Genome-wide identification of mA-associated functional SNPs for CC was performed using the TCGA and JENGER databases, incorporating the data from RNA-seq and MeRIP-seq.

GEP can provide decision makers with clear and competing evidence of the monetary value of ecosystem services. However, the relationship between GEP and urbanization has not been clarified which is not conducive to the decision-making role of GEP in the process of urban sustainable development.

The separator is a crucial component in lithium batteries, as it physically separates the cathode and the anode while allowing ion transfer through the internal channel. The pore structure of the separator significantly influences the performance of lithium batteries, particularly lithium metal batteries. In this study, we investigate the use of a Janus separator composed of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)-polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fibers in lithium metal batteries.
