Background: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly aggressive brain tumor with a poor prognosis. Temozolomide (TMZ), the standard first-line chemotherapy drug is limited by severe toxicity and the development of drug resistance.
Purpose: To explore the potential of Chuanxiong Rhizoma (CR), a traditional Chinese medicine, in enhancing the efficacy of TMZ against GBM, especially in TMZ-resistant cells under hypoxic conditions.
Introduction: Liver X receptor α (LXRα) plays an important role in inflammatory immune response induced by hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) and acute rejection (AR). Macrophage M1-polarization play an important role in the occurrence and development of AR. Although the activation of LXR has anti-inflammatory effects, the role of LXRα in AR after liver transplantation (LT) has not been elucidated.

The increase in multidrug-resistant (MDR) complex (ECC) infections, particularly those resistant to carbapenems, underscores the urgent need for alternative therapies. Phage therapy, with its specific bactericidal action, offers a promising solution. However, there remains a shortage of well-characterized ECC-targeting phages, and dosing and timing optimization for ECC-specific phage cocktails is largely unexplored.

Ligustilide (LIG) has been shown to enhance blood-brain barrier permeability and reduce P-glycoprotein activity, thereby potentiating the synergistic effect of TMZ against GBM. The dual-drug-loaded nanoparticles encapsulating both TMZ and LIG (TMZ/LIG-NPs) were prepared using Poly (d,l-lactic-co-glycolide)-monomethoxy poly (ethylene glycol) (PLGA-mPEG).

In this study, we judiciously constructed a recombinant MUC1-dependent adenovirus (rAdF35-MUC1) that can selectively replicate and overexpress copepod super green fluorescent proteins (copGFP) in MUC1-positive tumor cells to investigate its role in the detection of CTCs.
Methods: We conducted a comparative study between rAdF35-MUC1 and the existing hTERT-dependent adenovirus (rAdF35-hTERT).
Aim: To identify and synthesise the qualitative evidence that is available regarding reducing the turnover of hospital nurses from their own perspectives.
Design: A qualitative systematic review using the meta-aggregation design.
Data Sources: Qualitative studies either in English or in Chinese, dating from 2018 to 2023, were obtained from eight databases, including CINAHL, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Ovid, and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database and the China Biomedical Database.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The traditional Huoermai therapy is a treatment for insomnia used by the Tibetan people living on the Tibetan plateau in China. This therapy involves the use of Myristica fragrans Houtt. and Carum carvi L.

Objective: To explore the clinical phenotype and pathogenesis of a child with partial duplication in the long arm of chromosome 10 (10q), and conduct a review of relevant literature.
Methods: A child presented at Lianyungang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital in April 2018 for growth retardation, intellectual disability, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) was selected as the study subject. Peripheral blood samples were collected from the child and his parents for G-banded chromosomal karyotyping analysis.
To improve the retention time and skin-whitening efficacy of Atractylodes macrocephale essential oil (AMO), a novel Pickering emulsion based nanogel loaded with AMO (AMO-PEG) was successfully developed. This formulation employed nano-pearl powder (NPP) as the particle stabilizer for the Pickering emulsion and Bletilla striata polysaccharide (BSP) as the gel matrix. The pH, rheological properties, hardness, and elasticity of AMO-PEG were affected by the ratio of AMO-Pickering emulsion (AMO-PE) to BSP gel matrix.

Background And Objective: Accumulating evidence had implicated pathological involvement of interleukins (ILs) in progression and complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors (DPP-4i) produced favorable effects on glucose homeostasis in T2DM. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of DPP-4i on interleukins (ILs) concentrations in T2DM.

Of note, SIRT1 and SIRT2 are distributed in the nucleus and cytoplasm, while SIRT3, SIRT4 and SIRT5 are localized in the mitochondria. SIRT6 and SIRT7 are distributed in the nucleus.

Considering that age and gender can influence the results of acoustic parameters, this study aimed to further explore the specific effects of age and gender on acoustic parameter analysis of the elderly population over 60 years old with presbyphagia. A total of 45 participants were enrolled and divided into three groups (60-69 years old, 70-79 years old, and 80-89 years old).

At present, there is no effective prevention and control measures for this disease. In the present study, the specific primers targeting highly conserved regions of MCP gene were designed, and then a quantitative real-time PCR method was established.

To address the challenge of accurately identifying the source of the second traveling wave head in complex transmission network scenarios with existing single-ended fault location methods, a traveling wave network fault location method based on adaptive waveform similarity is proposed. The paper analyzes the propagation process of traveling waves in transmission lines and quantitatively derives the time-domain expression of the traveling wave waveform.

Methods: A prospective, randomized controlled study was conducted from January 2022 to June 2023, involving patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) at the Neurology Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The control group received routine treatment, while the experimental group received routine combined EDB treatment.
Purpose: Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune bleeding disorder characterized by isolated thrombocytopenia that is often misdiagnosed due to the lack of a gold standard for diagnosis and currently relies on exclusionary approaches. This project combines several laboratory parameters to construct a clinical prediction model for adult ITP patients.
Methods: A total of 428 patients with thrombocytopenia who visited the West China Hospital of Sichuan University between January 2021 and March 2023 were enrolled.
Background: Prostate cancer ranks among the six most lethal malignancies worldwide. Telomerase, a reverse transcriptase enzyme, plays a pivotal role in extending cellular telomeres and is intimately associated with cell proliferation and division. However, the interconnection between prostate cancer and telomerase-related genes (TEASEs) remains unclear.

Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare subtype of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Patients with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)-associated IVLBCL variants exhibit significantly poor survival. Cytokines play pivotal roles in malignancy-associated HLH as well as in capillary leak syndrome (CLS).

Inflammatory markers such as the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) have emerged as potential indicators strongly associated with tumor prognosis, albeit their prognostic significance remains contentious. The predictive value of NLR, PLR, LMR in patients with gastric cancer (GC) treated with ICIs has not been fully explored; therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to examine the potential of inflammatory markers NLR, PLR, and LMR as survival predictors in this population.
