Objective: To observe the effects of electroacupuncture pretreatment on postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD), neuronal apoptosis and neuron-inflammation in aged rats.
Methods: Thirty-six male SD rats aged 20 months were randomly divided into sham operation group, model group and electroacupuncture (EA) group, with 12 rats in each group. The POCD rats model was prepared by internal fixation of left tibial fracture.

Background: Patients with cancer rely on morphine for analgesia, while studies have indicated morphine can induce immunosuppression in cancer. Therefore, investigating the immunosuppressive roles and molecular mechanism of morphine on lung cancer progression is imperative.
Methods: Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release assay was used to determine the cytotoxicity of morphine to lung cancer cells.
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship among attention span, instrument reading, and eye movement mode. Sixteen pilots participated in procedural tests for attention span and instrument reading ability while completing simulated flight take-offs. Different instrument types corresponded to different reaction times - as response time increased, presentation time decreased.

The expression of inducible co-stimulator (ICOS) in peripheral blood T lymphocytes from the patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and the role in the pathogenesis of SLE was investigated. By using two-color immunofluorescent staining and flow cytometric assay, the expression levels of ICOS in peripheal blood T lymphocytes from 33 patients with SLE and 16 healthy volunteers were detected. SLE diseases activity index (SLEDAI) of the patients with SLE was used to evaluate the disease activity.
