Retrospective analysis of 9 cases of appendiceal mucocele in 3,071 cases of appendicitis.

Appendiceal mucocele is a rare disease. Due to the lack of specific clinical symptoms, and the high misdiagnosis rate before operation, in the present study, the clinical data were assessed to determine a potential basis for the diagnosis and treatment of appendiceal mucocele. The clinical data of 3,071 patients with appendicitis admitted between January 2014 and July 2021, including 9 patients with appendiceal mucoceles were retrospectively analyzed.
