The excessive release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) after myocardial infarction (MI) disrupts the natural healing process, leading to cardiac fibrosis and compromising patient prognosis. However, the clinical application of many antioxidant drugs for MI treatment is hindered by their poor antioxidant efficacy and inability to specifically target the heart. Here we developed a tannic acid-modified MnO nanozyme (named MnO@TA), which can achieve cardiac targeting to inhibit post-MI fibrosis and enhance cardiac function.

Background: Darier's disease (DD) is a skin disorder caused by mutations in the ATP2A2 gene. Researchers have been investigating the correlation between genotype and phenotype in DD. Understanding the genotype-phenotype relationship in DD can enhance our comprehension of the genetic background and phenotypic characteristics of the condition, as well as the relationship between its systemic and localized manifestations.

However, conventional tarpaulins exhibit inadequate mechanical properties, a low solar reflectance, and are susceptible to pollution. To address these issues, a bioinspired polylactic acid/polyethylene glycol @silicon dioxide (PLA/PEG@SiO₂) microfibrous tarpaulin with a dual-layer heterogeneous structure was fabricated via in-situ drafting melt-blowing combined with thermal bonding, inspired by the layered structure of shells.

Here, we investigated the efficiency of DC for persulfate delivery and activation and compared with alternating current (AC). While AC electric field only influenced persulfate fate by Joule heating effect, DC electric field induced electrokinetic migration of persulfate and contaminants, as well as promoted persulfate activation with Joule heating and electrochemical reactions.

So far, only copper-based catalysts have shown efficient conversion of CO into the desired multi-carbon (C) products. This work explores Cu-based dilute alloys to systematically tune the energy landscape of CO electrolysis toward C products.

A BEM (boundary element method) based approach is developed to accurately solve an EEG/MEG forward problem for a modern high-resolution head model in approximately 60 seconds using a common workstation. The method utilizes a charge-based BEM with fast multipole acceleration (BEM-FMM) and a "smart" mesh pre-refinement (called -refinement) close to the singular source(s). No costly matrix-filling or direct solution steps typical for the standard BEM are required; the method generates on-skin voltages as well as MEG magnetic fields for high-resolution head models in approximately 60 seconds after initial model assembly.

Four different substitution modes were selected, denoted as A (X=Me, Y=S), A (X=OMe, Y=S), B (X=Me, Y=NH), and C (X=Me, Y=O). The geometric parameters proved that the IHBs enhanced after photoexcitation, which was conducive to promote the ESIPT process.

Although external pollution has been greatly improved, the internal pollutants in reservoirs continue to accumulate with the complex deposition and release processes, resulting in potential risks to water supply safety. To address the aforementioned issue, this paper proposed a simulation model of water quality named ECOlab EU1-WSR to simulate the spatio-temporal changes of water quality under the influence of internal pollution for the water source reservoirs.

This study focuses on the spatiotemporal characteristics and mechanism of temperature change in heterogeneous porous media with applied DC. The heating process can be divided into four phases: preferential heating of the low permeability zone (LPZ), rapid heating in the middle region, temperature drop and hot zone shift, and reheating.

It is found that cutaneous calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II-γ (CAMK2γ), expressed mainly in sympathetic nerves, is activated by stress and imiquimod in mouse skin. Camk2g-deficient mice exhibits attenuated imiquimod-induced psoriasis-like manifestations and skin inflammation.
