Role of contrast-enhanced ultrasound with time-intensity curve analysis about thyroid nodule and parenchyma for differentiating BRAF V600E mutation status.

Background: The BRAF V600E mutation was proven associated with papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) which has more aggressive behavior and could affect the outcome of PTC. The objective of this study was to observe more contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) time-intensity curve (TIC)-based quantitative parameters in nodules and surrounding parenchyma and analyze the association between the TIC-based quantitative parameters and BRAF V600E mutation status in patients with PTC.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 447 PTC patients was conducted.

Ultrasound Imaging of Macrophages Intracellularly Labelled with Biosynthetic Gas Vesicles.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a novel method for real-time imaging to track macrophages and to make it possible to visually track their dynamic features.

Procedures: The archaeon Halobacterium NRC-1 was cultured in an ATCC medium. Buoyant cells were allowed to produce biosynthetic gas vesicles (GVs), and isolated GVs were collected after lysis.

The Application Value of Using Semiquantitative and Quantitative Parameters in Multimodal Ultrasound to Distinguish Between Benign and Malignant BI-RADS 4 Lesions.

This study aims to explore the value of real-time strain elastography (RTE) and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in the diagnosis of breast BI-RADS 4 lesions. It collected 85 cases (totaling 85 lesions) diagnosed with breast BI-RADS 4 through routine ultrasound from October 2020 to December 2022 in Huangshan City People's Hospital. All lesions underwent RTE and CEUS examination before surgery, and the ImageJ software was used to measure the periphery of lesion images in the enhancement peak mode and grayscale mode to calculate the contrast-enhanced ultrasound area ratio.

Ultrasound Molecular Imaging of Neovascularization for Evaluation of Endometrial Receptivity Using Magnetic iRGD-Modified Lipid-Polymer Hybrid Microbubbles.

Background: Angiogenesis plays an important role in endometrial receptivity, determining the response of the endometrium to the blastocyst at the early stage of embryo implantation. During the application of assisted reproduction technologies, it is very important to evaluate the status of uterine angiogenesis before deciding on embryo implantation. Targeted microbubbles (MBs)-based ultrasound molecular imaging (UMI) can noninvasively detect the expression status of biomarkers at the molecular level, thereby being a potential diagnosis strategy for various diseases and their therapeutic evaluation.

Ultrasound imaging tracking of mesenchymal stem cells intracellularly labeled with biosynthetic gas vesicles for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation and damage to articular tissues that can lead to irreversible joint damage and progressive disability. The multipotent mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) play an important role in immune disorders and tissue regeneration. However, their immunosuppressive effects and the underlying mechanisms are largely unclear due to the lack of tools for real-time imaging of MSCs .

Evaluation of right ventricular function in fetal hypoplastic left heart syndrome using spatio-temporal image correlation (STIC).

Background: Postnatal outcome of fetuses with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) is mainly determined by right ventricular function. In the present study we used spatio-temporal image correlation (STIC) to assess right ventricular function of fetuses with HLHS.

Methods: Three-dimensional ultrasound with STIC technique was used to acquire heart images from fetuses that had HLHS and the normal controls, between 24(+0) and 37(+6) weeks of gestation.

[Assessment of the right ventricle function of fetus by spatio-temporal image correlation].

Objective: To evaluate the superiority, feasibility and clinical signifi cance of the four-dimensional spatio-temporal image correlation (STIC) in detection of the right ventricle function of fetus.

Methods: Th e STIC dynamic images of 180 normal fetal hearts at 24+0 to 37+6 weeks of gestation were obtained by the three-dimensional (3D) probe. Th e post-process evaluation was done off -line with the virtual organ computer-aided analysis (VOCAL) software.

Fetal dorsalis pedis artery velocimetry in the second and third trimesters.

Objectives: This study aimed to establish reference ranges for Doppler parameters of the fetal dorsalis pedis artery and to compare them with those of the anterior tibial artery.

Methods: Dorsalis pedis artery velocimetry was performed in 138 singleton fetuses. Intraobserver repeatability coefficients and differences between measurements of bilateral legs were also evaluated.
