This study investigates the application of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) for assessing drought resistance in seeds, aiming to offer a rapid and efficient method suitable for large-scale primary screening. NIR spectroscopy is utilized to analyze four key factors (water, sugars, amino acids content, and genes) associated with maize seed drought responses. Signature NIR bands indicative of drought resistance-related molecules are identified using the Competitive Adaptive Reweighted Sampling (CARS) technique.

To address this issue, a solution involving soil testing and customizing fertilizer application has been proposed. The current standard methodology for soil parameter assessment relies on chemical analysis performed by trained laboratory technicians, which only allows for the measurement of one indicator at a time.

Emerging research suggests that IAV infections may disrupt the balance of gut microbiota, while gut dysbiosis can affect disease progression in IAV patients. Therefore, restoring gut microbiota balance may represent a promising therapeutic target for IAV infections.

Reported results and techniques of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) are variable. Our objective was to assess results of weight loss, complications, and reflux in a large consecutive series of LSG, describing technical detail which contributed to outcomes. Retrospective review of prospectively collected data of 500 consecutive patients undergoing LSG.

Ischemic stroke is a common issue that severely affects the human health. Between the central nervous system and the enteric system, the " Gut-Brain " axis, the bidirectional connection involved in the neuro-immuno-endocrine network, is crucial for the occurrence and development of ischemic stroke. Ischemic stroke can lead to change in the gut microbiota and gastrointestinal hormones, which will then reversely affect the disease development.

After ischemic stroke, autophagy plays a key regulatory role as an intracellular catabolic pathway for misfolded proteins and damaged organelles. Mounting evidence indicates that astrocytes are strongly linked to the occurrence and development of cerebral ischemia.

Spherical aluminum powder was added to an epoxy composite coating in order to improve its protection performance for metal materials. The strength of the coating before and after UV (Ultraviolet Light) aging, its yellowing value, and its barrier properties were tested to explore the influence of UV light on the barrier performance of aluminum powder/epoxy coating. The results show that the addition of the aluminum powder enhanced the strength of the epoxy coating and reflected environmental UV light.

A large-scale, sufficiently powered study is therefore warranted to ascertain the effects of guideline implementation on patient-centered outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a multicenter, cluster-randomized, parallel-controlled trial in intensive care units (ICUs) across China.
Background: Septic acute kidney injury (AKI) causes a sharp deterioration of renal function, and it is a major reason for mortality in intensive care units. Although miR-21 has been proven to be dysregulated in patients with sepsis, the evidence is scarce concerning its role in mediating cellular apoptosis in AKI.
Methods: Mice were injected intraperitoneally with 10 mg/kg of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to establish septic AKI model, miR-21 mimic and inhibitor were used to manipulate the expression of miR-21, the creatinine levels were detected by a creatinine assay kit, the renal cell proliferation and apoptosis were detected by MTT assay, flow cytometry assay and acridine orange/ethidium bromide (AO/EB) fluorescence staining, the renal function was evaluated by renal histology and tubular injury score, western blot analysis was used to detect the target protein levels.
Waterborne polyurethane (WPU) coatings hold advantages of good toughness, low cost and environmental protection. However, the low water contact angle (WCA), poor wear and corrosion resistance make them unsuitable for application in the superhydrophobic coatings such as antipollution flashover coatings for transmission lines, self-cleaning coatings for outdoor equipment and waterproof textiles. A series of superhydrophobic WPU composites (SHWPUCs) with micro-rough surface structure was prepared by electrostatic spraying nano-SiO particles on WPU composites with low surface energy.

Nevertheless, it still remains a great challenge to make the effective incorporation of ZIF-8 into the resulting TFN membrane feasible for facile application. Herein, we propose an in situ strategy to fabricate a ZIF-8 nanocrystal hybrid reverse osmosis membrane induced by the ultrafast surface modification of Noria-polyethyleneimine codeposition.

This paper analyzes the Raman spectrum and Near Infrared Spectrum (NIR) with time-frequency method. The empirical mode decomposition spectrum becomes intrinsic mode functions, which the proportion calculation reveals the Raman spectral energy is uniform distributed in each component, while the NIR's low order intrinsic mode functions only undertakes fewer primary spectroscopic effective information. Both the real spectrum and numerical experiments show that the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) regard Raman spectrum as the amplitude-modulated signal, which possessed with high frequency adsorption property; and EMD regards NIR as the frequency-modulated signal, which could be preferably realized high frequency narrow-band demodulation during first-order intrinsic mode functions.

Without parameter setting empirical mode decomposition (EMD) decomposes the signal into intrinsic mode functions (IMF), then structuring IMF filter and the de-noising process is adaptive. It is worth noting that the signal and the noise are mixed together in very high frequency, that is to say that there has been mode overlap, and what happened will affect the de-noising effect.
