As a popular vegetable in Yunnan Province, China, taro flowers are delicious but contain substances that can cause numbing and mucous membrane damage. Bedaquiline (BDQ), a diarylquinoline compound, is an inhibitor of mycobacterial ATP synthase, specifically with FDA approval as a treatment for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). M2 is the main metabolite of BDQ and is active against tuberculosis. The objective of this study was to establish and validate a sensitive and convenient ultraperformance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) approach to concurrently quantify BDQ and M2 in rat plasma and to examine whether resveratrol, a CYP3A4 inhibitor, could influence the pharmacokinetics of BDQ and M2 in rats.

To enhance the performance of entropy algorithms in analyzing complex time series, generalized Gaussian distribution improved permutation entropy (GGDIPE) and its multiscale variant (MGGDIPE) are proposed in this paper. First, the generalized Gaussian distribution cumulative distribution function is employed for data normalization to enhance the algorithm's applicability across time series with diverse distributions. The algorithm further processes the normalized data using improved permutation entropy, which maintains both the absolute magnitude and temporal correlations of the signals, overcoming the equal value issue found in traditional permutation entropy (PE).

The longitudinal relaxation time (termed as T) of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in nanodiamonds can be affected by surface electric or magnetic noise, which has been exploited to develop cutting-edge quantum relaxometry for biochemical sensing. In this work, a tiny all-fiber quantum probe based on longitudinal relaxometry was developed by chemically-anchoring nanodiamonds on the surface of a cone fiber tip. The dependences of T on surface electric and magnetic noise were discussed in theories first and then experimentally demonstrated in varied pH and Gd concentration solutions, respectively.
