Aims: This study aims to investigate the potential biomarkers of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and IBD with damp-heat syndrome (IBD-DH) by metabolomics.
Methods: Plasma and urine samples were collected from 15 healthy controls and 30 IBD patients, including 15 IBD-DH and 15 IBD with spleen deficiency syndrome (IBD-SD), which was coded as SF8G and SF70 according to the International Classification of Diseases Eleventh Revision (ICD-11) issued by World Health Organization. Pseudotargeted metabolomics method was used based on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry and triple-quadrupole mass spectrometry.
Objective: This study aimed to study the clinical efficacy of decoction in the treatment of diabetic constipation and its influence on the intestinal environment and the incidence of adverse reactions.
Methods: In this prospective study, a total of 62 patients with diabetic constipation admitted to our hospital from June 2020 to March 2021 were recruited and assigned at a ratio of 1 : 1 to receive either traditional treatment (control group) or decoction (experimental group). Outcome measures included clinical efficacy, intestinal environment, and incidence of adverse reactions.
Objective: To assess the efficacy of Erzhu Yiren Decoction in treating gastric ulcer of spleen deficiency and dampness-heat and its effect on serum NO, EGF, and PGE2 levels.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted among 64 patients with gastric ulcers of spleen deficiency and dampness heat admitted to our hospital from September 2019 to May 2020, and they were divided at a ratio of 1 : 1 into an observation group (rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated capsules plus Erzhu Yiren Decoction) and a control group (rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated capsules) based on different treatment methods. The clinical symptom scores, the effective rate of ulcer healing under gastroscopy, the quality of ulcer healing (QOUH), serum nitric oxide (NO), endothelial growth factor (EGF), and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) levels were compared between the two groups.
Coeliac disease (CD), also known as gluten sensitive enteropathy, is an autoimmune intestinal disease induced by gluten in genetically susceptible individuals. Gluten is a common ingredient in daily diet and is one of the main environmental factors to induce coeliac disease. Adhering to gluten free diet (GFD) is an effective method for treating CD.

Western blot analysis and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were applied to detect the effect of varying concentrations of Qizhu formula in the modulation of the expression of survivin in MGC-803 human gastric adenocarcinoma cells. The western blot analysis results demonstrated that Qizhu formula exerted no significant effects on the protein expression of the β-actin housekeeping gene, whereas it exerted a significant inhibitory effect on the protein expression of the apoptosis-related survivin gene at concentrations of 250 g/ml and, particularly, 500 g/ml.
