CD209 is a type II transmembrane protein in the C-type lectin family, which is involved in the regulation of innate and adaptive immune system. Although it has been widely studied in mammals, but little has been reported about fish CD209 genes. In the present study, Megalobrama amblycephala CD209 (MaCD209) gene was cloned and characterized, its expression patterns, evolutionary characteristics, agglutinative and bacteriostatic activities were analyzed.
