The incompatibility of the high sensitivity and wide linear range still restricts the further development of active sensors. Here we report a triboelectric pressure sensor based on water-containing triboelectric elastomer with gradient-based microchannels. Tiny amount of liquid is injected into the triboelectric elastomer and the pressure-induced water bridges can modulate the built-in electric field of the sensor, which enhance the signal linearity near the compression limit.

Domains play an essential role in determining the piezoelectric properties of polymers. The conventional method for achieving ultrafine piezoelectric domain structures for polymers is multiphase polymerization, which is not the primary choice for industrial-scale applications because of its complex synthesis and weak mechanical properties. Purpose: This research aims to identify acoustic features which can distinguish patients with Parkinson's disease (PD patients) and healthy speakers.

Methods: Thirty PD patients and 30 healthy speakers were recruited in the experiment, and their speech was collected, including three vowels (/i/, /a/, and /u/) and nine consonants (/p/, /pʰ/, /t/, /tʰ/, /k/, /kʰ/, /l/, /m/, and /n/). Acoustic features like fundamental frequency (F0), Jitter, Shimmer, harmonics-to-noise ratio (HNR), first formant (F1), second formant (F2), third formant (F3), first bandwidth (B1), second bandwidth (B2), third bandwidth (B3), voice onset, voice onset time were analyzed in our experiment.

Ocean energy harvesting based on a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has great application potential, while the encapsulation of triboelectric devices in water poses a critical issue. Herein, a triboelectric-electromagnetic hybrid nanogenerator (TE-HNG) consisting of TENGs and electromagnetic generators (EMGs) is proposed to harvest water flow energy. A magnetic coupling transmission component is applied to replace traditional bearing structures, which can realize the fully enclosed packaging of the TENG devices and achieve long-lasting energy harvesting from water flow.

The energy conversion efficiency of a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is severely limited by the charge density of triboelectric materials, while drastic and unavoidable charge decay happens during contact due to the insufficient charge retention capacity of positive triboelectric materials. Here, elaborately synthesized acid-ion-doped pyridine-based polybenzimidazole processing with strong charge retention capability is demonstrated to couple with negatively corona-polarized electrets. As illustrated by thermal stimulation and an ion mass spectrometer, the formation of acid-ion chimerism processes high activation energy for stored charges, and the selective anion migration can compensate the escape of polarized charge.

The spliceosomal gene is frequently mutated in cancer. While it is known that hotspot mutations lead to loss of splicing factor SUGP1 from spliceosomes, the cancer-relevant SF3B1-SUGP1 interaction has not been characterized. To address this issue, we show by structural modeling that two regions flanking the SUGP1 G-patch make numerous contacts with the region of SF3B1 harboring hotspot mutations.

Eye tracking provides valuable insight for analyzing visual attention and underlying thinking progress through the observation of eye movements. Here, a transparent, flexible and ultra-persistent electrostatic sensing interface is proposed for realizing active eye tracking (AET) system based on the electrostatic induction effect. Through a triple-layer structure combined with a dielectric bilayer and a rough-surface Ag nanowire (Ag NW) electrode layer, the inherent capacitance and interfacial trapping density of the electrostatic interface has been strongly enhanced, contributing to an unprecedented charge storage capability.
