Article Synopsis
  • A soft and hard composite MAO coating was created by incorporating Cu particles into an alkaline phosphate-borate electrolyte, aiming to enhance the properties of the coating on titanium alloy.
  • The study found that the presence of Cu and CuO in the oxide coatings improved the hardness from 420 HV to 470 HV, while also stabilizing the friction coefficient compared to the base coating.
  • The Cu particles enhanced the coating's frictional performance, making it approximately 3.6 times better than the coating without Cu, due to their ability to improve coating compactness and plasticity.

Treatment of multiple bacterial infected wounds by eliminating bacteria and promoting tissue regeneration remains a clinical challenge. Herein, dual-network hydrogels (CS-GA/A-β-CD) with snap-structure were designed to achieve curcumin immobilization, using gallic acid-grafted chitosan (CS-GA) and aldehyde-β-cyclodextrin (A-β-CD) crosslinked. A-β-CD were able to achieve rapid dissolution (≥222.

Designing and developing suitable oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts with high activity and stability remain challenging in electrolytic water splitting. Hence, NiFe@NC@MoS core-bishell composites wrapped by molybdenum disulphide (MoS) and nitrogen-doped graphene (NC) were prepared using hydrothermal synthesis in this research. NiFe@NC@MoS composite exhibits excellent performance with an overpotential of 288 mV and a Tafel slope of 53.

Water splitting is an important way to obtain hydrogen applied in clean energy, which mainly consists of two half-reactions: hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, the kinetics of the OER of water splitting, which occurs at the anode, is slow and inefficient, especially in acid. Currently, the main OER catalysts are still based on noble metals, such as Ir and Ru, which are the main active components.

Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is one promising technique to obtain high-purity hydrogen, therefore, exploiting inexpensive and high-efficiency HER electrocatalysts is a matter of cardinal significance under the background of achieving carbon neutrality. In this paper, a hydrothermal method was used to prepare the Cr-NiCO/NF (Ni foam) precursor. Then, the NiO-Cr-C/NF self-supporting HER catalyst was obtained by heating the precursor at 400 °C.

In this article, a new process for treating steel slag and CO simultaneously and preparing calcium carbonate, metallic iron, and glass ceramics without wastewater or gas production is proposed. The reduction of iron and preparation of diopside glass ceramics are studied in this paper, and the results show that the carbon thermal reduction product of the original slag does not reach its melting point, and the slag and iron are well separated in the samples containing the leached steel slag and added silica. Part of the parent glass is converted into a glass ceramic after heat treatment, and the crystalline phases of samples are melilite, diopside, and partial melilite, and diopside and anorthite, respectively.

In this research, the effects of the compaction velocity on the sinterability of the Al-Fe-Cr-Ti powder metallurgy (PM) alloy by high velocity compaction were investigated. The Al-Fe-Cr-Ti alloy powder was compacted with different velocities by high velocity compaction and then sintered under a flow of high pure (99.999 wt%) nitrogen gas.

Background: The neural basis of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) which is a clinical syndrome characterized by emotional and cognitive impairments is poorly understood. Accumulating evidence has suggested that the insula is an important substrate underlying the mechanism of MDD. This study aimed to examine the disrupted resting-state brain regional function in insula and to further investigate the associated resting-state functional connectivity (rs-FC) of insula underlie the MDD in adolescents and young adults.

Spiders are the most common and predominant predators in terrestrial ecosystems. The predatory behavior of spiders affects the energy flow across the food web within an ecosystem. Traditiaonal methods for analyzing spider diets such as field observation, anatomy and faeces analysis are not suitable for spider experiments due to spiders' special dietary behavior.

A group of F2 hybrids of mirror carp including 68 individuals was used to construct a linkage map using JoinMap4.0 software. Of 560 markers genotyped, 507 markers (143 SSR markers, 33 EST-SSR markers, and 321 SNP markers) were assigned to the map, which comprised of 62 linkage groups.

Magnetic bead enrich-method and plasmid detection-method were used to isolate microsatellite DNA from Paralichthys olivaceus genome. The microsatellite markers were applied to analyze natural population structure of four populations, which were collected from Dalian, Beidaihe, Dandong, and Qingdao. Two thousand eight hundred and five microsatellite sequence clones were isolated and 3120 microsatellite loci were obtained.
