For improving the combustion and emission performance of engines operating at high altitude regions, a two OED optimization method was proposed. The influence of each factor on the target was analyzed and discussed through a primary OED. Based on the primary OED test, factors with less influence were excluded to reduce factors in the secondary OED test.

Background: The clinical applications of endoscope-assisted transoral release for irreducible atlantoaxial dislocations are limited. This study aimed to investigate the clinical effect and prognostic factors of traditional and endoscope-assisted transoral release, as well as posterior reduction and fixation, in treating irreducible atlantoaxial dislocations.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study on 59 patients with irreducible atlantoaxial dislocation who underwent either traditional or endoscope-assisted transoral release, posterior fixation, and fusion between January 2018 and January 2023.

Objective: Our study aimed to develop a day anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedure to treat degenerative cervical spondylosis (DCS). The goal was to analyze its clinical implications, safety, and early effects to provide a better surgical option for eligible DCS patients.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed to identify DCS patients who underwent day ACDF from September 2022 to August 2023.

This was a single-centre retrospective study. Minimally invasive techniques for transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS-TLIF), oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF), and percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (Endo-TLIF) have been extensively used for lumbar degenerative diseases. The present study analyses the short-term and mid-term clinical effects of the above three minimally invasive techniques on L4/L5 degenerative spondylolisthesis.

Bacteriophage (phage) is regarded as an antimicrobial alternative for in food production. However, the development of phage resistance to the host is a main concern for the phage application. This study characterized the phage CP39 and investigated the phage resistance of CP39 in NCTC12662.

The objective of this study was to evaluate relationship with aggregation, secondary structures and gel properties of pork myofibrillar protein with different sodium chloride (1%, 2% and 3%). When the sodium chloride increased from 1 to 3%, the active sulfhydryl, surface hydrophobicity, hardness and cooking yield of myofibrillar protein were increased significantly ( < 0.05), the particle size, total sulfhydryl and Zeta potential were decreased significantly ( < 0.

Background: Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) is satisfactory for hospitalized patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Currently, only a few studies have reported about the day surgery patients undergoing PELD.

Methods: A total of 267 patients with LDH underwent PELD during day surgery and were followed up for at least 3 years.

Background: Surgery remains the main curative option for the treatment of intraspinal tumour. The purpose of the present study was to analyze the clinical outcomes of laminoplasty with process-lamina complex replantation compared with laminectomy with pedicle screw fixation for intraspinal tumours.

Methods: In our retrospective analysis, 27 patients received tumour resection surgery by laminoplasty with reconstruction plate fixation and 32 patients received laminectomy with pedicle screw fixation.

Aim: To improve nucleus pulposus cell-targeted therapy for intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) by fabricating a novel kind of ultrasound (US)-mediated poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanobubbles (NBs) as a means of targeted drug delivery.

Materials & Methods: The resveratrol (RES)-embedded NBs were synthesized using a double-emulsion method. The active NP cell-targeting biomarker CDH2 antibody (AbCDH2) was further conjugated to the NBs using a carbodiimide method.

The disordered arrangement of flagella biosynthetic genes, combined with a simplified regulatory mechanism, has made elucidating the process of Campylobacter jejuni flagellation difficult. FlhF is a recently identified element that controls the assembly of the flagella, although its function mechanism and regulatory preference are not well defined at present. In this study, we found that inactivation of FlhF caused the transcription of most flagella genes down-regulated.

Various gene delivery systems have been widely studied for the acute spinal cord injury (SCI) treatment. In the present study, a novel type of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)-loaded cationic nanobubbles (CNBs) conjugated with MAP-2 antibody (mAb/BDNF/CNBs) was prepared to provide low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU)-targeted gene therapy. In vitro experiments, the ultrasound-targeted tranfection to BDNF overexpressioin in neurons and efficiently inhibition neuronal apoptosis have been demonstrated, and the elaborately designed mAb/BDNF/CNBs can specifically target to the neurons.

A comprehensive study was conducted to evaluate the structural changes of meat and protein of pork batters produced by chopping or beating process through the phase-contrast micrograph, laser light scattering analyzer, scanning electronic microscopy and Raman spectrometer. The results showed that the shattered myofibrilla fragments were shorter and particle-sizes were smaller in the raw batter produced by beating process than those in the chopping process. Compared with the raw and cooked batters produced by chopping process, modifications in amide I and amide III bands revealed a significant decrease of -helix content and an increase of -sheet, -turn and random coils content in the beating process.

A lack of relevant disease models for Campylobacter jejuni has long been an obstacle to research into this common enteric pathogen. Here we used an infant rabbit to study C. jejuni infection, which enables us to define several previously unknown but key features of the organism.

Objective: The purpose of this article was to systematically review the clinical outcomes of microendoscopic foraminotomy compared with the traditional open cervical foraminotomy.

Methods: A literature search of two databases was performed to identify investigations performed in the treatment of cervical foraminotomy with microsurgery or an open approach. Data including blood loss, surgical time, hospital stay, complications, clinical success rate, reduction of arm and neck pain, improvement of neurological function, and repeated surgery rate were summarized, calculated and compared.

Cartilage end plates (CEP) degeneration plays an integral role in intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration resulting from nutrient diffusion disorders. Although cell senescence resulting from oxidative stress is known to contribute to degeneration, no studies concerning the role of senescence in CEP degeneration have been conducted. SIRT1 is a longevity gene that plays a pivotal role in many cellular functions, including cell senescence.
