(1) Background: Currently, residents ≥ 60 and ≥65 years old in Beijing, China, are eligible for free influenza and pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines (PPSV23), respectively. The present study aimed to assess the cost-effectiveness of current and alternative strategies of dual influenza and PPSV23 vaccination among the elderly in Beijing. (2) Methods: We developed a Markov state-transition model to compare the costs and the quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) associated with four influenza and PPSV23 vaccination strategies among the elderly in Beijing.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis using administrative claims databases of Shenzhen City (the city that the Luohu district sits) from Jan 2015-Apr 2017, which encompassed the time before and after the implementation of the pilot model.
Objective: To assess the cost-effectiveness of dual influenza and pneumococcal vaccination for the elderly in Shenzhen, China.
Methods: A Markov state-transition model with a weekly cycle was developed to compare the outcomes of dual influenza and pneumococcal vaccination for the prevention of influenza and pneumococcal infections compared with no vaccination among 70-74 years old people in Shenzhen over 5 years. The model allowed seasonal variation of influenza activity.
The present study evaluated the real-world effectiveness of influenza and pneumococcal dual-vaccination among Chinese elderly, the evidence on which was absent. Outpatient and inpatient claims databases from Jan 1, 2015 to Apr 1, 2017 of persons at least 60 years old in Shenzhen, China were merged with electronic records of influenza vaccines and 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines (PPSV23) from Oct 1, 2016 - May 31, 2017. Individuals who were vaccinated with influenza between Nov 1 and Dec 31, 2016 and received PPSV23 30 days within the date of influenza vaccination were defined as the vaccinated group.

However, a population-based, longitudinal study on health-related quality of life in knee osteoarthritis has not been conducted in Japan. We studied 333 women aged 50 years and older at baseline, with 8 to 9 years of follow-up.

Relationships between knee OA and physical performance have been examined, but mainly in patients with knee OA. Clarifying the relationship between knee OA and physical performance among community-dwelling individuals is thus important.

In Japan, knee OA is a frequent cause of pain and disability, but few epidemiological studies have examined the demographic or lifestyle factors that influence OA of the knee. We examine the risk factors for OA of the knee among Japanese community-dwelling women aged 40-89 years (mean age 64.

However, little is known about the mental health status of the foreign workers working temporarily in Japan. We examined the depressive symptoms in 81 Chinese factory workers and attempted to identify the determining factors.

The mental health status of 2,327 VDT users at an administrative office was investigated using the 12-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). Subjects were asked about their age, sex, hours of daily VDT use, rest and breaks during VDT work, eyestrain, and musculoskeletal pain.

Their use, however, may increase the risk of developing adverse conditions related to vision, the musculoskeletal system, and mental health. We carried out a survey among 3070 workers aged 18 to 67 years (mean, 39.

Sustained and/or episodic hypotension during hemodialysis (HD) is an important clinical issue. Plasma adrenomedullin (AM) is increased in HD patients with sustained hypotension, but little is known about its implications for episodic hypotension. Ghrelin may also contribute to the pathophysiology of hypotension in HD patients.
