Background: After ischemic stroke (IS), microglia and astrocytes undergo polarization, transforming into a pro-inflammatory phenotype (M1 or A1). According to previous studies, exosomes might play an important role in the interplay between M1 microglia and A1 astrocytes after IS.
Methods: We used the microglial oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R) model and ultracentrifugation to extract M1 microglial exosomes (M1-exos).
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a prevalent type of neurodegenerative disorder. AVE0991, a non-peptide analogue of Ang-(1-7), by which the progression of PD has been discovered to be ameliorated, but the specific mechanism whereby AVE0991 modulates the progression of PD re-mains unclear. The mice overexpressing human α-syn (A53T) were established to simulate PD pathology, and we also constructed an in vitro model of mouse dopaminergic neurons overexpressing hα-syn (A53T).

Background And Purpose: Insulin resistance plays a pivotal role in the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the novel metabolic score for insulin resistance (METS-IR) and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) after endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) in stroke patients.
Methods: We retrospectively included patients with large artery occlusion in the anterior circulation and treated by EVT from 2 stroke centers (Nanjing First Hospital from September 2019 to April 2022, and Jinling Hospital from September 2019 to July 2021).
Purpose: Our previous study has shown that AVE 0991, a nonpeptide analogue of Ang-(1-7), ameliorates cognitive decline and inhibits NLRP3 inflammasome of astrocytes in Alzheimer's disease model mice. Additionally, several studies have suggested that activation of autophagy appears to effectively inhibit the progression of neuroinflammation. However, it is unclear whether AVE 0991 can modulate astrocyte autophagy to suppress neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease.

Background: Abnormal expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been reported in the acute stage of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This study aimed to explore differential lncRNA expression in the subpopulations of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from AIS patients and further evaluate its underlying mechanisms in stroke-induced immunosuppression.
Methods: We reanalyzed lncRNA microarray data and investigated abnormally expressed lncRNAs in the subpopulations of PBMCs by magnetic cell sorting and real-time quantitative PCR.
Background: Reports have proven that shorter door-to-needle time (DTN time) indicates better outcomes in AIS patients received intravenous thrombolysis. Efforts have been made by hospitals and centers to minimize DTN time in many ways including introducing a stroke nurse. However, there are few studies to discuss the specific effect of stroke nurse on patients' prognosis.
