Objective: To determine whether the use of herbal medicines combined with conventional treatment is more effective than conventional medication alone in improving clinical symptoms in patients with diabetic distal symmetric polyneuropathy (DSPN).
Methods: This multicenter, placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial recruited patients from 6 clinical centers in mainland China. A total of 188 patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to the treatment group (Tangbi Formula plus methylcobalamin) and the control group (placebo plus methylcobalamin).
Objective: Studies have demonstrated a link between chronic inflammatory responses and diabetic microangiopathy, which include diabetic nephropathy, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic neuropathy. However, it remains unclear whether there is a causal association between circulating inflammatory cytokines and the development of diabetic microvascular complications. This study aimed to investigate whether altered genetically predicted concentrations of circulating inflammatory cytokines were associated with the development of diabetic microvascular complications using two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and clinical validation.

In the development of vascular lesions, when endothelial cells are stimulated by hyperglycemia, inflammation and other external conditions, endothelial cell dysfunction will occur, which promotes endothelial cells to lose its typical phenotype and gain mesenchymal characteristics, with the occurrence of endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT). At the same time promote endothelial cell proliferation and migration, induce vascular injury.

In this process, It has been shown that FTO associates with the m6A mRNA demethylase and plays a role in diabetic vascular endothelial dysfunction. In the present study, we detected FTO protein expression in HUVECs by Western blot and found that FTO was highly expressed in all disease groups relative to the control group.

Methods: Retrospective data were collected from 1,446 diabetic patients at the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine and were split into training and internal validation sets in a 7:3 ratio. Additionally, 360 diabetic patients from the Second Affiliated Hospital were used as an external validation cohort.
Two-dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (OIHPs) with alternating structure of the organic and inorganic layers have a natural quantum well structure. The difference of dielectric constants between organic and inorganic layers in this structure results in the enhancement of dielectric confinement effect, which exhibits a large exciton binding energy and hinders the separation of electron-hole pairs. Herein, a strategy to reduce the dielectric confinement effect by narrowing the dielectric difference between organic amine molecule and [PbBr] octahedron is put forward.

Currently, most of the available prediction models for DPN are derived from general clinical information and laboratory indicators. Several Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) indicators have been utilised to construct prediction models.

However, it can not exhibit high catalytic performance because of the radiative recombination and the lack of effective catalytic sites. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) encapsulated QDs can not only solve the aforementioned problems, but also maintain their own unique characteristics with ultra-high specific surfaces area and abundant metal sites.

Methods: A total of 106 patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to the treatment group and control group following a four-week washout period. The patients in the control group received a general lifestyle intervention, while those in the treatment group received DJC (2.
Objective: Nanosilver-alginate dressing can effectively promote the healing of diabetic wounds in rats. However, due to the potential toxicity of nanosilver, its widespread application in hard-to-heal wound healing is limited. In the present study, the role and potential mechanism of nanosilver-free alginate gel (NSFAG) in the healing process of diabetic wounds were explored.

Goto Kakizaki (GK) rats are a valuable model for the study of T2DM and share common glucose metabolism features with human T2DM patients. A series of studies have indicated that T2DM is associated with the gut microbiota composition and gut metabolites.

Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were fed with high fat diet for 6 weeks followed by streptozotocin (STZ, 35 mg/kg) injection. These rats were then treated with DJC (270, 540 and 1080 mg/kg) daily for 8 weeks.
Background: At present, there is no clinical study to elucidate the correlation between vitamin D deficiency and the incidence of diabetic foot osteomyelitis (DFO).This study aims to clarify levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)VD] in peripheral blood and vitamin D receptor (VDR) expression in wound margin tissues (T-VDR) of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) and DFO, and to determine its correlation with treatment outcomes of DFU and DFO, and and its value as a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of DFU and DFO.
Methods: 156 T2DM patients with DFU (DFU group), 100 T2DM patients without DFU (T2DM group), and 100 healthy controls (NC group).
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) materials have become a research forefront in the field of photocatalytic CO reduction attributed to their ultra-high specific surface area, adjustable structure, and abundant catalytic active sites. Particularly, MOFs can be facilely tuned to match CO photoreduction by utilizing post-modification of metal nodes, functionalization of organic linkers, and combination with other active materials. Herein, the recent advances in the construction strategy of MOF-based photocatalysts materials for CO reduction are highlighted.

Methods: 75 patients undergoing IVF-ET due to tubal factors alone collected as the control group (group A), and 352 patients with obese PCOS infertility were divided into four groups according to the amount of weight loss before IVF: 0 kg (group B), 1-5 kg (group C), 5-10 kg (group D), and >10 kg (group E). Six cases of ovarian granulosa cells were collected randomly with the random number table method in each group for detecting mRNA profiling.
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1) has been frequently found to be dysregulated, which contributes to diabetes-related complications. The present study aimed to explore the effect of knockdown on mouse mesangial cell (MMC) viability, apoptosis, inflammation and fibrosis in an model of diabetic nephropathy (DN). The SV40 MES13 MMC cell line was first cultured with high glucose to establish an MMC DN cell model.
