Application of fluorescein sodium in the resection of vermis pilocytic astrocytomas.

Background: Pilocytic astrocytomas (PAs) are slow growing neoplasms and usually located at the cerebellum. There has been certainty regarding the truthful benefit of surgical resection for patients with PA. Gross total resection (GTR) of PAs, especially those being situated in deep regions, remains a surgical challenge.

[Synthesis and Luminescence Properties of BiOCL: Dy3⁺Phosphors for NUV Excited White Light-Emitting Diodes].

Abstract In the present paper, we reported the luminescence properties of BiOCl:Dy(3+) and BiOCl:Dy(3+), Li+ phosphor synthesized by conventional solid state method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and excitation and emission spectroscopy were used to characterize the samples. Results show that pure tetragonal BiOCl:Dy(3+) crystals can be synthesized successfully at 500 °C, and Li+ ion dopant improves the crystallinity of samples furtherly.
