The development of low-cost catalysts for the water oxidation reaction (WOR) is important for solving the bottleneck issues in water splitting and benefits the widespread utilization of renewable energy sources. Herein, four cobalt(II) triazolylpyridine complexes, namely [Co(DTE)(HO)](ClO)·CHCOCH (1), [Co(DTE)Cl]·2CHOH (2) (DTE = (1-(2-acetoxymethyl)-4-(2-pyridyl)1,2,3-triazole), [Co(DTEL)(CHOH)](ClO) (3), and [Co(DTEL)Cl]·HO (4) (DTEL = (1-(2-hydroxy)-4-(2-pyridyl)1,2,3-triazole), were synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of 1-3 were determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis.

Cadmium and aflatoxin B (AFB) are both common and widespread pollutants in food and feed. There are several reports on toxicity induced by Cadmium or AFB alone, but few address the toxicity caused by co-exposure to the two substances. In this study, 42 female and 42 male Kunming (KM) mice were divided into seven groups to test the acute oral toxicity of CdCl and AFB, using Karber's method.

Proteases from halotolerant and halophilic microorganisms were found in traditional Chinese fish sauce. In this study, 30 fungi were isolated from fermented fish sauce in five growth media based on their morphology. However, only one strain, YL-1, which was identified as Penicillium citrinum by internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequence analysis, can produce alkaline protease.
