In herpesvirus, the terminase subunit pUL15 is involved in cleavage of the viral genome concatemers in the nucleus. Previous studies have shown that herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) pUL15 can enter the nucleus without other viral proteins and help other terminase subunits enter the nucleus. However, this study revealed that duck plague virus (DPV) pUL15 cannot localize independently to the nucleus and can only be localized in the nucleus in the presence of pUL28 and pUL33.

Deoxyhypusine synthase (DHPS) is an enzyme encoded by the DHPS gene, with high expression in various cancers, including ovarian cancer (OC). DHPS regulates the translation initiation factor EIF5A, and EIF5A2 knockout inhibits OC tumor growth and metastasis by blocking the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and the TGFβ pathway. In this study, we show that DHPS is amplified in OC patients, and its elevated expression correlates with poor survival.

The Indian meal moth, (Hübner, 1813) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), a primary stored peanut insect pest, exhibited a significant difference in oviposition preference among normal-oleic peanuts (NOPs) and high-oleic peanuts (HOPs). Identifying key volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are attractive or repellent to is of great significance for the ecological management of pests. This study explored the sustainable valorization of fruit waste extracts from sugarcane bagasse (SB), banana peel (BP), and watermelon rind (WR) for Euglena gracilis biomass and β-1,3-glucan production.
