In order to explore the effective markers of presepsis in the prediction of clinical disease and disease severity, the predictive effect of lactic acid (Lac) combined with cardiac troponin T (cTnT) and 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HT) on the severity of sepsis in intensive care unit (ICU) patients and its correlation with prognosis is investigated. A total of 85 sepsis patients admitted to the ICU of our hospital from January 2020 to June 2021 are selected to establish the ICU sepsis group, and 72 health examination patients who received physical examination in our hospital during the same period are included in the healthy control group. The experimental results demonstrate that combined detection mode of serum Lac, cTnT, and 5-HT indicators has a high predictive value for the condition of patients with ICU sepsis and those indicators are closely correlated with the prognosis of patients.

Objective: Our goal was to assess the variability in the assigned duration of pediatric orthopaedic rotation among US allopathic orthopaedic residency programs to see how pediatrics is incorporated into surgical education.

Methods: Using publicly available information for US allopathic orthopaedic residency programs in 2019, we retrospectively collected data on the assigned duration of pediatric orthopaedic rotation and variables such as number and sex of residents, number of orthopaedic faculty, university- versus community-based programs, outsourcing residents to unaffiliated hospital for pediatric exposure, specialty of program leadership, and presence of pediatric orthopaedic fellowship in the home program.

Results: One hundred thirty-eight of the 146 (95%) eligible allopathic orthopaedic residency programs provided sufficient information.

Two winter rapeseed cultivars, "NS" (cold tolerant) and "NF" (cold sensitive), were used to reveal the morphological, physiological, and proteomic characteristics in leaves of plants after treatment at -4°C for 12 h(T1) and 24 h(T2), and at room temperature(T0), to understand the molecular mechanisms of cold tolerance. Antioxidant activity and osmotic adjustment ability were higher, and plasma membrane injury was less obvious, in NS than in NF under cold stress. We detected different abundant proteins (DAPs) related to cold tolerance in winter rapeseed through data-independent acquisition (DIA).
