The multi-quantification of the distinct individualized maxillofacial traits, that is, quantifying multiple indices, is vital for diagnosis, decision-making, and prognosis of the maxillofacial surgery. While the discrete and demographically disproportionate distributions of the multiple indices restrict the generalization ability of artificial intelligence (AI)-based automatic analysis, this study presents a demographic-parity strategy for AI-based multi-quantification. In the aesthetic-concerning maxillary alveolar basal bone, which requires quantifying a total of 9 indices from length and width dimensional, this study collected a total of 4,000 cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) sagittal images, and developed a deep learning model composed of a backbone and multiple regression heads with fully shared parameters to intelligently predict these quantitative metrics.

Vermicompost is a promising amendment for immobilization of cadmium (Cd) in soils; however, its effectiveness can be influenced by rhizosphere environment conditions, such as pH and the presence of low-molecular-weight organic acids (LMWOAs). In this study, a batch experiment was conducted to examine the characteristics of Cd adsorption by vermicompost at different pH (pH = 3, 5, and 7) and after the addition of different LMWOAs (oxalic acid; citric acid; malic acid). Developing an effective treatment strategy of drug delivery to improve diabetic wound healing remains a major challenge in clinical practice nowadays, due to multidrug-resistant bacterial infections, angiopathy, and oxidative damage in the wound microenvironment. Herein, an effective and convenient strategy was designed through a self-healing multiple-dynamic-bond cross-linked hydrogel with interpenetrating networks, which was formed by multiple-dynamic-bond cross-linking of reversible catechol-Fe coordinate bonds, hydrogen bonding, and Schiff base bonds. The excellent autonomous healing of the hydrogel was initiated and accelerated by Schiff bonds with reversible breakage between 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde containing catechol and aldehyde groups and chitosan chains, and further consolidated by the co-optation of other noncovalent interactions contributed of hydrogen bonding and Fe coordinate bonds.

Objective: To investigate the short-term efficacy and safety outcomes following a sequential treatment with clearing heat and eliminating phlegm (CHEP) formula and tonifying Qi and activating blood circulation (TQABC) formula in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) within a 72 h time window.

Methods: In this randomized, multicenter, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial, 500 participants will be randomly assigned in a ratio of 1∶1 to the CHEP+ TQABC group or control group. In addition to guideline-based standard medical care, participants in the treatment group will receive the CHEP formula for the first 5 consecutive days followed by the TQABC formula for another 10 consecutive days, while those in the control group will receive CHEP formula placebo and TQABC formula placebo consecutively.

A novel hexa-segmented double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) mycovirus was isolated and characterized from the filamentous phytopathogenic fungus Diaporthe pseudophoenicicola and was named Diaporthe pseudophoenicicola chrysovirus 1 (DpCV1). The full-length cDNAs of dsRNA1-6 were 3335, 3030, 3039, 2980, 963, and 780 bp, respectively. Sequence analysis indicated the presence of nine open reading frames (ORFs) in the DpCV1 genome.
