Peroxiredoxin 2 (PRDX2) is an antioxidant enzyme that has been reported to be overexpressed in various cancers. However, the role of PRDX2 in gastric cancer progression and its underlying mechanism remains unclear. Herein, we revealed the function of PRDX2 in gastric cancer progression and explored its molecule mechanism.

Background: Transferrin receptor (TFRC) uptakes iron-loaded transferrin (TF) to acquire iron and regulates tumor development. Nonetheless, the clinical values and the precise functions of TF-TFRC axis in the development of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) were still undiscovered, especially the impacts of their regional heterogeneous expression.
Methods: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was used to analyze the expression of TFRC in 106 OSCC patients.
Lowering the thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) and promoting the catalytic activity of cobalt-based perovskite air electrodes is crucial for efficient solid oxide cells (SOCs) devices. However, the co-achievement of both merits has usually been largely compromised in most scenarios. Herein, a dual-doping strategy to manipulate the properties of perovskite cobaltate electrocatalyst is reported in which a high valence element of Ta is incorporated into B-site to significantly suppress the dynamic reduction of Co species and reduces the TEC value from PrBaCoO (PBC, 17.

Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) act as information messengers by transmitting a wide spectrum of biological molecules, including proteins, nucleic acids, and metabolites, from donor cells to recipient cells. Previous studies have demonstrated that CAFs play important roles in tumor progression by regulating tumor cell proliferation, metastasis, therapeutic resistance, and metabolism via sEVs.

MicroRNAs were related to AAA formation, which bring the approach for precise and targeted drug therapy for AAA. We developed a new strategy based on decellularized adipose matrix (DAM) hydrogel immobilized on the adventitia to release antagomiR-150-5p for preventing the AAA development.

Exsolution is a smart strategy that allows the enrichment of the perovskite's surface with highly reactive phases, yielding heteroboundaries. However, the identification of the exact catalytic role of this complex architecture is still elusive.

However, the response rate and therapeutic effect of immunotherapy alone are still not ideal for melanoma. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the defects of treating anti-PD-L1 alone and the therapeutic effect and molecular mechanism of combined therapy with anti-PD-L1 and MnCl.

SMs are currently in phase III clinical trials for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) after promising phase II trials. To explore the utility of SMs in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), we tested nine human OSCC cell lines and correlated SM sensitivity with both IAP mutation and expression levels.

Although researchers confirmed that differences in the elemental composition of the implant interface can lead to varying levels of biological function, the mechanism underlying the polarization directions of macrophages induced by varying oxygen proportions remains unclear. This research presented the fabrication of a deoxygenated hydroxyapatite (dHAP) surface to investigate the impact of oxygen content on macrophage activation.

Patients with a history of spontaneous abortion were enrolled and were assigned to two groups according to whether they were exposed to low dose prednisone during pregnancy. All patients received OGTT at early and late pregnancy.

However, the intraoperative procedure lacked stability and fluency due to a series of problems highlighted by the small incision design of the protocol (only 1 cm long). Therefore, there is a growing clinical demand to further optimize the SLAN protocol.

Objective: This study evaluates the endometrial receptivity of obstetric anticardiolipin syndrome (OAPS) patients using various ultrasound indicators and the efficacy of low-dose aspirin (LDA) treatment.
Methods: This retrospective study recruited patients from Shanghai Ren Ji Hospital, China from January 2022 to December 2023. Doppler parameters of the endometrium and uterine artery blood flow were recorded to assess the endometrial receptivity of OAPS patients compared with normal pregnant women and an other immune diseases group.

Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most prevalent type of lung cancer, and there is an urgent need for developing novel therapies. Sonodynamic therapy exhibits exceptional tissue penetration and minimal harm to healthy tissue, making it extremely promising for cancer treatment. The efficacy of SDT is limited by the intricate immunological microenvironment and the resistance to tumor treatment.

However, the mechanisms underlying osteoblast differentiation from these multiple osteoprogenitors remain poorly understood. To address this knowledge gap, we developed a comprehensive framework to investigate osteoblast differentiation at multiple scales, encompassing cells, genes, and gene modules.

Liquid biopsy is a minimally invasive method that uses biofluid samples instead of tissue samples for cancer diagnosis. Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles secreted by donor cells and act as mediators of intercellular communication in human health and disease. Due to their important roles, exosomes have been considered as promising biomarkers for liquid biopsy.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of current targeted drug therapies for radioiodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer (RR-DTC).
Methods: This was a meta-analysis of relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and single-arm studies searched across PubMed, Embase, Cochranes, and Web of Sciences up to September 12, 2023. Stata15.
Tumor cells remodel the phenotype and function of tumor microenvironment (TME) cells to favor tumor progression. Previous studies have shown that neutrophils in TME are polarized to N2 tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) by tumor derived factors, thus promoting tumor growth and metastasis, angiogenesis, therapy resistance, and immunosuppression. Exosomes act as critical intercellular messengers in human health and diseases including cancer.

Mesenchymal stem cells based therapy has been used in clinic for almost 20 years and has shown encouraging effects in treating a wide range of diseases. However, the underlying mechanism is far more complicated than it was previously assumed. Mitochondria transfer is one way that recently found to be employed by mesenchymal stem cells to exert its biological effects.

To obtain the influence of seismic parameters on the seismic response of curved girder bridges, this paper relies on a large slope small-radius curved steel box girder bridge (LSCGB) and selects seismic wave incidence angle, vertical component of ground motion, and site category as seismic parameters to carry out nonlinear time history analysis. Based on the analysis results of the case bridge, it is shown that the torsional vibration of the first 10 modes of LSCGB is significant, the modes are dispersed, and the contribution of high-order modes of vibration cannot be ignored.
