Background: Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging is a non-invasive method to visualize and quantify the tumor microenvironment. This study aimed to explore the feasibility of F-AIF-NOTA-E[PEG-c(RGDfk)] (denoted as F-RGD) PET quantitative parameters to distinguish the angiogenesis in colorectal cancer (CRC) mice which has different metastatic potential.
Methods: Twenty LoVo and twenty LS174T of CRC liver metastases animal models were established by implantation of human CRC cell lines via intrasplenic injection.
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between multiple metabolism parameters derived from FDG and tumor TNM stages as well as tumor metastasis-associated protein of GLUT-1 and MACC1 in colorectal carcinoma (CRC).
Methods: Thirty-eight patients (24 males and 14 females) with primary CRC confirmed by elective surgery pathological, who also accepted F-FDG PET/CT scans during 2017 to 2019 were included in this study. The tumor classification of T, N and M is explained by the 7th American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC).
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) account for a large proportion of genomic transcripts and are critical regulators in various cardiac diseases. Though lncRNAs have been reported to participate in the process of diverse cardiac diseases, the contribution of lncRNAs in cardiac fibrosis remains to be fully elucidated. Here, we identified a novel anti-fibrotic lncRNA, SAIL (scaffold attachment factor B interacting lncRNA).

However, the role of H19 in cardiomyocyte senescence remains to be further explored.

This study aimed to investigate the role of NKAP in neuroblastoma (NB) progression and recurrence. We compared NKAP gene expression between 89 recurrence and 134 non-recurrence patients with NB by utilizing the ArrayExpress database.

We reviewed a prospectively collected database of surgically treated PA between March 2016 and October 2017. Predictors for extent of resection and recurrence/progression were assessed with logistic and Cox regression analysis.

However, their high-energy characteristics are clouded by low-capacity utilization, large voltage hysteresis, and poor cycling stability of transition MF cathodes. A variety of reasons is responsible for this: poor reaction kinetics, low conductivities, unstable MF/electrolyte interfaces and dissolution of active species upon cycling.

Aiming at the removal of refractory organic pollutants in aqueous solution, self-assembled nano-FeC embedded in reduced graphene oxide (nano-FeC@RGO) aerogel was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and high temperature treatment, and characterized by SEM, HRTEM, pore size distribution, XRD, XPS and FTIR. The results showed that the aerogel was porous, and most of the FeC particles were less than 100 nm in size. They were evenly dispersed and embedded in the RGO aerogel.

Methods: The H9C2 line of rat cardiomyocytes were treated with OPG at different concentrations and the cellular hypertrophy was evaluated.
Importance: Maternal preeclampsia may be one of the early risk factors for childhood and adolescence elevated blood pressure (BP). It is unknown whether the intergenerational association between maternal preeclampsia and offspring BP differs by cord blood vitamin D levels.
Objective: To assess the associations between maternal preeclampsia and offspring systolic BP (SBP) across childhood and adolescence and to test whether these associations vary by cord blood 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] concentrations (a biomarker of in utero vitamin D status).
The pentraxin is a superfamily of proteins with the same domain known as the pentraxin domain at C-terminal. This family has two subgroups, namely; short pentraxins (C-reactive protein and serum amyloid P component) and long pentraxins (neuronal pentraxin 1, neuronal pentraxin 2, neuronal pentraxin receptor, pentraxin 3 and pentraxin 4). Each group shares a similar structure with the pentameric complexes arranged in a discoid shape.

Urate anion exchanger 1 (URAT1) expressed in the proximal renal tubules is responsible for about 90% of the reabsorption of uric acid. URAT1 is identified as an important target of uricosuric drugs. Here we present an LC-MS/MS-based approach, combined with URAT1-transgenic MDCK cells, for the assessment of uric acid.

Time-of-flight method was adopted to measure the distance between two parallel precision apertures utilized in a vacuum chamber for cryogenic radiometry. The diameters of the apertures are 9 mm and 8 mm, respectively. A 1550-nm femtosecond pulse laser, a 70-GHz photodetector, and a 30-GHz oscilloscope were used to measure the round-trip flight time difference between the flat front surfaces of the two precision apertures.

A major cause of late-life health complications is the cardiovascular disease known as atherosclerosis. The process of atherogenesis is marked by endothelial cell dysfunction, the development of atherogenic lesions, and plaque buildup on the intima of the arterial endothelium. This process is fueled primarily by the adhesion of monocytes to endothelial cells via the actions of the cellular adhesion molecules VCAM-1 and E-selectin.
