Electrochemical uranium extraction from real nuclear wastewater with a high concentration of fluoride ions (F-) represents a promising strategy for the efficient treatment of radioactive wastewater and the recovery of the valuable uranium resource. However, the current progress suffers from the interference of extremely high concentration of F- and undesired purity of the final uranium product. Herein, we constructed the neighboring ensemble Lewis acid-base pair sites (ensemble Lewis sites) in bismuth oxides as the extraction material, which was integrated into a designed tandem electrochemical device for efficient recovery of high-purity uranium from real nuclear wastewater.

This study used Xinjiang native "medicinal and food dual-use" resource mulberries as raw material, and optimized the extraction process of mulberries anthocyanins by enzyme-ultrasound-assistance through the establishment of a response surface model (RSM) and deep neural network model (DNN). A single-factor-Box-Behnken experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of pectinase dosage, enzymatic hydrolysis time, ultrasonic temperature, ultrasonic time, solvent concentration, and solid-liquid ratio on the extraction rates of total anthocyanins (TAC), and cyanidin-3-O-glucoside (C3G), cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside (C3R) two anthocyanin compounds, and the comprehensive evaluation index was used as a reference to obtain the optimal extraction conditions. The results show that both the RSM and DNN models could predict accurately, but by comparing the coefficient of determination (R) of the two models, it was found that the DNN model (R = 0.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic chronic autoimmune disease with complex mechanism. Currently, ferroptosis is believed to play a role in it, but the specific mechanism is unknown, especially in immune response. In this study, we demonstrated that the high expression of major histocompatibility complex I (MHC-I) molecules in RA fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) is an antigen-presenting cell property and that this property is closely related to the increase in antigens after citrullination.

Soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) is an enzyme involved in transforming epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) to dihydroxyeicosatrienoic acids (DHETs). EETs play a pivotal role in maintaining anti-inflammatory response and pain regulation, making sEH as an important target for therapeutic interventions. Based on our present study of discovery of sEH inhibitors, herein, six new (1-6) and fifteen known compounds (7-21) with inhibitory effects toward sEH were isolated from Inula britannica.

Competitive interactions are pervasive within biological populations, where individuals engage in fierce disputes over vital resources for survival. Before the establishment of a social hierarchy within the population, this competition becomes even more intense. Historical experiences of competition significantly influence the competitive performance; individuals with a history of persistent loss are less likely to initiate attacks or win escalated contests.
