Background: Pulmonary large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (pLCNEC) is a very rare malignancy originating from the lung and bronchus, and its biological behaviour, clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis are poorly understood. Thus, the clinical characteristics and surgical treatment-related prognostic factors of this rare disorder must be explored.

Results: The clinical data of 59 patients (48 males and 11 females) who were treated by surgery and diagnosed with pLCNEC by postoperative pathology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from April 2004 to April 2019 were analysed retrospectively.

The suppression effect of hydrophobic nano SiO of different concentrations as flow-enhancing additives synergizing with CaCO to inhibit gas explosions was systematically studied in a self-built LabVIEW-based explosion test platform. The results showed that the addition of hydrophobic powder can reduce the angle of rest and enhance the flowability of mixed powders, and improve the powder diffusion effect and storability. Meanwhile, changing the proportion and concentration of the mixed powders had a significant impact on the combustion reaction, so that the flame propagation velocity and explosion overpressure decreased significantly.

Lead pollution in water and soil often transfers to food, advocating tools for on-site detection of lead pollution to ensure both environmental and food safety. We proposed a label-free, dually amplified and homogeneous DNAzyme assay for sensitive and one-pot detection of lead pollution. Instead of using chemically modified DNA substrate, a structure-response digestion process was introduced to monitor Pb presence-induced cleavage process of unlabeled substrate, further amplifying the response signals and eliminating the use of labeled DNA probes.

The disulfide-centered hydrogen bonds in the three different model systems of diethyl disulfide⋅⋅⋅H O/H CO/HCONH clusters were characterized by high-resolution Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy and quantum chemical computations. The global minimum energy structures for each cluster are experimentally observed and are characterized by one of the three different S-S⋅⋅⋅H-C/N/O disulfide-centered hydrogen bonds and two O⋅⋅⋅H-C hydrogen bonds. Non-covalent interaction and natural bond orbital analyses further confirm the experimental observations.

This paper presents a quantitative pollutant discharge model for a typical molybdenum roasting plant, which combines the best available technology and object-oriented Petri net concepts. The proposed model was used to verify whether the best available technology in a molybdenum roasting process meeting the current pollutant emission limits by comparing the results of multiple simulations with online monitoring data records. Theoretical SO emission values were obtained via multiple simulations and compared with the online monitoring data of a typical molybdenum roasting plant to verify the authenticity of the online monitoring data.

Herein, the boron radical active sites of boron carbon oxynitride quantum dots (BCNO QDs) are electrically excited to produce boron radicals (B) for catalyzing peroxydisulfate (SO) as a coreactant to accelerate the generation of abundant sulfate radicals (SO) for significant enhancement in the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) efficiency of BCNO QDs, which overcome the defect of traditional carbon-based QDs with low ECL efficiency. Impressively, under extremely low concentration of SO solution, the BCNO QDs/SO system could exhibit high ECL emission, realizing environmental friendliness and excellent biocompatibility for sensitive bioanalysis. As a proof-of-concept, BCNO QDs, a new generation of ECL emitters with high ECL efficiency, were successfully used in the ultrasensitive determination of microRNA-21, which pushes the exploration of new ECL emitters and broadens the application in the field of clinical diagnosis, ECL imaging, and molecular devices.
