However, studies on the prevalence and correlates of bullying victimization among left-behind children-whose parents live and work in urban areas while they remain at home in a rural area-have fallen far behind. We conducted a study based on one representative sample of 742 left-behind children in Grades 6 to 10 from rural China in 2010.

Toxicological studies of TCC at environmentally relevant concentrations have been conducted in zebrafish embryos and indicated that TCC leads to deformity of development causes developmental deformities.

Three new lignoids, premnan A (1), premnan B (2), and tauntangyiol C (3), were isolated from Premna serratifolia wood, a traditional cosmetic plant in Myanmar, together with a new lignoid, premnan C (4) assumed to be an artifact, one natural new lignoid (5), and three known lignoids (6-8). The structures of the new compounds 1-4 were elucidated based on 1D and 2D NMR, IR spectroscopy, and HRESIMS. The absolute configurations of 1-4 were also determined by optical rotation, circular dichroism (CD) data analyses, and comparisons with the reported literature.

Rationale: The safety and efficacy of drug-coated balloon (DCB) technology have primarily been proven in the treatment of coronary in-stent restenosis. Whereas increasing evidences show that DCB use was feasible in certain de novo coronary lesions. In 2012, Vassilev reported the 1st case in which a coronary aneurysm formed after a DCB was used to treat drug-eluting stent (DES) restenosis.

Evaluation of hyperbaric oxygen effects on slow coronary flow patients using gated myocardial perfusion imaging tomography.

Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) is widely used in clinical settings for many disease treatments. To investigate the potential effects of hyperbaric oxygen on patients with slow coronary flow (SCF) we retrospectively analyzed 98 patients who were diagnosed with SCF by coronary artery angiography. Of these, 50 patients received conventional treatment only (control group; the other 48 patients received hyperbaric oxygen treatment for four weeks in addition to the routine therapy (HBO2 group).

We conducted a genome-wide association study of cognitive flexibility (as measured by perseverative errors on the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test) in two sets of African American (AA) and European American (EA) subjects (Yale-Penn-1: 1,411 AAs/949 EAs; Yale-Penn-2: 1,178 AAs/1,335 EAs). This study was designed to evaluate the effects of testosterone supplementation (TS) on body composition in patients with HIV and the side effects of TS. A comprehensive literature search strategy was used to retrieve relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) examining the effects of TS on body composition. Atotal of 14 eligible studies were included, enrolling 388 and 349 randomized patients in TS and control groups, respectively.

Abnormal trophoblast cell apoptosis is implicated in the pathogenesis of pregnancy-related disorders including preeclampsia (PE), and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress has been considered as a novel pathway in the regulation of cell apoptosis. In this study, we observed that both apoptosis and ER stress are triggered in trophoblast cells under hypoxia as well as in the placenta of PE rats. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis showed that the expression of endoplasmic reticulum disulfide oxidase 1α (ERO1α) is suppressed in trophoblast cells under hypoxia due to the hypermethylation of the ERO1α promoter region, and the inhibition of ERO1α expression plays an important role in ER stress and trophoblast cell apoptosis.

The present study reveals that TCC can activate oxidative stress, induce total antioxidant capacity expression and lipid peroxidation, and increase the activities of superoxide dismutase and other antioxidant enzymes to resist oxidative damage.

Dosing optimization of CCR4 immunotoxin for improved depletion of CCR4 Treg in nonhuman primates.

Recently, we have developed a diphtheria toxin-based recombinant anti-human CCR4 immunotoxin for targeting CCR4 tumors and Tregs. In this study, we further optimized the dosing schedule for improved CCR4 Treg depletion.
