Studies focused on superheated steam technology in the field of food processing have progressed rapidly over the past several decades, and this can be attributed to its remarkable heat transfer efficiency, energy-saving benefits, and environmentally friendly characteristics when compared to those of conventional thermal processing methods. Consequently, superheated steam technology holds great promise for a wider range of applications in the food industry. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the use of superheated steam technology in food processing and its impact on food quality, texture, and microbiological safety.

Synthetic dataset of LG M50 batteries with different degradation pathways.

A synthetic dataset of 12 LG M50 cells was generated using physics-based models. The model parameters for this commercial NMC 811/graphite-SiOx cell were taken from multiple sources in the literature. This study investigated the effects of heat shock protein 22 (HSP22) against doxorubicin (DOX)-induced kidney injury. Mice were randomly assigned to four groups: CON, ad-HSP22, DOX, and ad-HSP22 + DOX. Adeno-associated virus carrying the HSP22 gene (ad-HSP22) was administered via tail vein injection for four weeks, followed by intraperitoneal simulation with DOX (20 mg/kg) for another five days.

Largemouth bass virus (LMBV) and infectious spleen and kidney necrosis virus (ISKNV) are both belong to Iridoviridae that cause considerable economic losses in the fish industry. There is no reported literature that can detect these two viruses simultaneously. In this study, we established a multiplex quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assay that can specifically and simultaneously detect both LMBV and ISKNV in fish samples.

Objective: To analyze the types and causes of complications following orbital fracture reconstruction and enhance clinicians' capacity to manage or prevent such complications.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective case series analysis, retrospectively collecting and analyzing clinical data of patients with orbital fractures who received surgical treatment at the Affiliated Eye Hospital of Nanchang University from May 2012 to May 2022. Descriptive statistics were employed to document common postoperative complications, and we recorded complications persisting after a minimum 6-month follow-up period.

Chemodynamic therapy (CDT) has emerged as a promising approach to cancer treatment, which can break the intracellular redox state balance and result in severe oxidative damage to biomolecules and organelles with the advantages of being less dependent on external stimulation, having deep tissue-healing abilities, and being resistant to drug resistance. There is considerable interest in developing CDT drugs with high efficiency and low toxicity. In this study, a new guanidinium-based biological metal covalent organic framework (Bio-MCOF), GZHMU-1@Mo, is rationally designed and synthesized as a multifunctional nanocatalyst in tumor cells for enhanced CDT.

Establishment of a Rapid LAMP Assay for and Comparison with the Application of qPCR.

The development of an exceptionally sensitive diagnostic technique for early identification of aquaculture diseases, specifically Aeromonas hydrophila, is essential for efficient management of disease outbreaks at aquaculture locations. In this research, a swift and sensitive diagnostic assay employing Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) of Aeromonas hydrophila was devised and compared to the conventional qPCR method documented by Rong Wang. Validation of the diagnostic assay was carried out using actual samples obtained from aquaculture fish.
