Deer antlers are the only mammalian appendages that can fully regenerate from periosteum of pedicles (PP). This regeneration process starts from regenerative healing of wounds. Removal of PP abolishes antler regeneration, however, the regenerative cutaneous wound healing proceeds, indicating that some factors in the circulation contribute to this healing.

Objective: Determining the optimal osteotomy length for patients with unilateral Crowe-IV developmental dysplasia of the hip undergoing subtrochanteric osteotomy remains challenging due to the significant variability in pelvic and spinal alignment. Incorrect osteotomy length, compounded by pelvic or spinal tilt, can adversely affect postoperative gait and long-term outcomes. Therefore, this study could introduce a method to calculate the osteotomy length for patients with unilateral Crowe-IV developmental dysplasia of the hip, correcting spinal and pelvic tilt, and improving patient gait.

Wetlands are important carbon sinks for mitigating climate warming. In this paper, greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes and carbon sequestration capacity of freshwater wetlands, coastal wetlands and constructed wetlands around the world are evaluated, and strategies to improve carbon sequestration by wetlands are proposed based on the main influencing factors. Air temperature and average annual rainfall are significantly positively correlated with CH flux and NO flux in freshwater wetlands and coastal wetlands.

In heterogeneous oxygen electrocatalysis, the homogeneity of adsorption patterns of reaction intermediates leads to scaling relationships that limit their activities. Based on the enhanced peroxidase-like activity of carbon dots nanozymes (CDszymes), with a specific oxidation reaction of D-amino acid oxidase catalysing the formation of HO from D-amino acid, an ultrasensitive sensing platform, was constructed for the quantitative detection of D-amino acids in saliva. Through transcriptomic analysis of patient-derived glioblastoma tissues, we identify an overactivation of inflammatory pathways that contribute to the development of a tumor-promoting microenvironment and therapeutic resistance. To address this critical mechanism, we present NanoAid, a biomimetic nanoplatform designed to target inflammatory pro-tumor processes to advance glioblastoma chemotherapy. In order to address the issue of food contamination by microorganisms and effectively harness the antibacterial properties of nisin, we attempted to incorporate nisin into natural polymer films while addressing its inherent instability. An antibacterial food packaging film based on carboxymethyl chitosan (CCS) binding with L-cysteine (CYS) and oxidized konjac glucomannan (OKG) was developed through both Schiff base reaction and addition reaction of thiol aldehyde. In this study, type-3 resistant starch (RS) with enhanced thermal stability and excellent short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production was obtained through the butyrylation and subsequent recrystallization at 4 °C of high-amylose maize starch (HAMS). We comprehensively examined and contrasted the structural attributes and in vitro human fecal fermentation behavior of butyrylated RS (BRS) with varying degrees of substitution. Src homology-2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase 2 (SHP2) plays a dual role in cancer initiation and progression. Identifying signals that modulate the function of SHP2 can improve current therapeutic approaches for IFN-α/β in HCC. We showed that cAMP-dependent PKA suppresses IFN-α/β-induced JAK/STAT signaling by increasing the phosphatase activity of SHP2, promoting the dissociation of SHP2 from the receptor for activated C-kinase 1 (RACK1) and binding to STAT1.
