Emerging medical biotechnology, with its dual-use nature, presents both unprecedented opportunities and challenges for human society. As we benefit from technological innovation, it is crucial for Chinese academics and policymakers to effectively identify and address potential risks. However, the current framework for evaluating dual-use research faces multiple challenges, including difficulties in identifying dual-use issues, a lack of consideration for broader impacts in assessments, and a lack of consensus on balancing benefits and risks.

Globally, including in China, emerging medical biotechnology is developing rapidly. To understand the views and perspectives of Chinese scientists on dual-use concerns, this empirical study conducted semistructured qualitative interviews with researchers (n=14) from various specialties within the Chinese medical field, analysing their perspectives and ethical considerations regarding dual-use concerns.

This paper explores challenges regarding informed consent in long-term, large-scale longitudinal cohort studies based on the longitudinal and dynamic nature of such research. Aims: To explore the patients' satisfaction and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of patients who received reconstruction after breast cancer surgery using the BREAST-Q questionnaire and further investigate the influencing risk factors.
Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled patients who underwent first-ever breast reconstruction after unilateral or bilateral mastectomy at the Breast Surgery Department of First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University or People's Hospital of Zhengzhou between January 2016 and December 2021. Multivariable linear regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors.

Assisted reproductive technology is a complex medical intervention with many potential social sensitivities.
